No surprise there then really, that's all the revealed cover artwork out the gate first!

Quote from: JudgeFridericus on 07 September, 2024, 12:17:57 PMMy issue of Previews has arrived which lists the 2000AD Ultimate Collection in the Previews UK section.

Book 184 will be Strontium Dog The Starlord Years. Here is the synopsis:
In the Twenty-Second century, lawlessness has spread out across the stars. Enter the Search/Destroy agents--mutants warped by Strontium 90 fallout, they are feared and despised by the 'norms', but they have been sanctioned by the Galactic Crime Commission to track down the most dangerous criminals in the universe. One such 'Strontium Dog' is Johnny Alpha... Scripted by John Wagner and illustrated by Carlos Ezquerra, this stunning volume collects the early Strontium Dog stories published in Starlord!

And someone else has suggested the tendrils belong to the Hungry Planet from Judge Child Quest (part 11). If so, then the art on this extension is more a 'history of 2000ad' collage, than an indication of the twenty volume's content.

The spaceship on the top of spine 191 is a dead ringer for Kevin O'Neill's classic cover to Prog 112.

Quote from: castle4 on 31 August, 2024, 12:16:54 PMJust received my copies of 181 and 182, the vertical alignment of the spine image seems much better on mine than Le Fink's. Btw, still think the image depicts red weed and a tripod from War of the Worlds/Scarlet Traces.

Having just rechecked the existing spine art, there is a tripod across the top of spines 167-172. So what the hell is it that looks like a red weed all over at least the five spines on the 'final' extension?! I can't think of any classic strips with that element, so must be from the last 20 years.

Has Wolfie Smith just set the record for fastest to go out of stock?!

I wonder if it's the red weed and a Tripod, from War of the Worlds?

Anyone know what Rebellion's plans are for the next Apex? Will there be one?

I know David has prepared a Gibbons volume, but no idea if and when Rebellion will produce it.

179 and 180 just arrived, and I was rather surprised that as a subscriber, Hatchette didn't bother to tell me that there has been another extension and I'll be charged again next month. Now as I frequent their website and this board, I'm aware, but poor form not mentioning it to all of their paying subscribers.

Quote from: Le Fink on 10 August, 2024, 05:10:57 PMThe Out has shown up - preordered from Forbidden Planet.

I don't know if spine art has been published yet but by the looks of it the number, logo and borderline are aligned higher than the rest of the series.

To be honest, looks like the standard Hatchette quality control to me, I've got big jumps up and down with that line on my 178 issues.

Impressed you have 181, I'm still waiting for 179 and 180.

Just enquired with Hatchette FB page via Messenger regarding the final extention spine art and was told the following, which I'm simply repeating:

Apologies, we haven't been shown what this would be at this stage. As far as we're aware, it should just be an extension of the spine art from the previous issues.

It isn't normally shown ahead of time, I believe the publishers prefer to let customers see the design as they fill out their collection.

Harlem Heroes 2 - vol 1 at 160 pages? Is that a bad joke? A poor choice resulting in 1/10th of our final 20 issues being taken up with this dross. As the other 2 announced volumes were both part of the announcement, does this mean 184-186 are Rogue Trooper:Friday, The Order and SD: Starlord years?

Surely can't be long now before the Hatchette website reveals 181 and 182? I wonder if it will be before we subscribers receive 180 and presumably a letter advising those who don't frequent this site or Facebook of the 'great news for all readers'!

Quote from: castle4 on 15 July, 2024, 01:50:18 PMCan I ask where you guys obtained your copies of Wolfie Smith please? It's still listed as 'Coming Soon' on the Hatchette website and therefore can't be added to the basket yet. Thanks

I preordered mine from Forbidden Planet. Postage has gone up a lot, although the parcels tend to be well packaged.

Many thanks. I'm a subscriber, but not expecting my copy until it's bundled with 180 DD v2, which will be about two weeks. At which point, I'm sure Hatchette will finally confirm the extension as only 2000ad have done so thus far!
