Hello,

If I may beg your indulgence for a few moments.

I have recently started serialising 'Lilly Mackenzie and the Mines of Charybdis' in the online comics anthology ACT-I-VATE.
Check it out here...
http://community.livejournal.com/act_i_vate/188229.html

The colours are by my old mate Gary Caldwell, so it looks pretty much like our ongoing Dante collaboration.

It will be update every Friday for the next year and a bit...absolutely FREE.

That's it, you can now go back to your regular business.

Thanks

Simon Fraser.

Thanks, that's made my morning that has.
Some great work here, though if I was forced to pick a fave it would the Radiator group shot, 'cos he nailed the characters and it made me all nostalgic.

"Simon - WHERE'S THE SIGNATURE YOU PROMISED ME??? "

Awww CRAP! I thought I sent that !

30 seconds of burrowing through the carefully organised mound of junk on the left of me reveals the postcard with the sig....addressed and everything.

I'll deal with this tomorrow...I am hugely sorry.

"Simon, you got mail. All summaries are by David Kinght and Gavin Hanly, and come courtesy of 2000adreview.co.uk "

Thanks guys, this is much appreciated. I had no idea the review went into this much depth.

Thanks Dave.

If anyone feels like picking it up and carrying on from Prog 2004 to date then speak now, great glory and spiritual wealth await thee!

I don't know anything about what's happening with Dante anymore, so it will be news to me too when/if they come up with a new artist.

A nice spleen venting would be fun for me at this point, but I fear rather unconstructive. So you'll all just have to be content with the official version for now.

...and yes, I am very busy doing other things so a return to Dante is not on the cards.

Cheers

Wow , that's a really stunning bit of work there from Dave. I had no idea he'd done that. I'll get in touch with him and ask if I can use it. Cheers

General / Help Needed on Dante Site

Hi All/

I'm looking for a bit of help from the massed ranks of fandom. As some of you may know I have a site

dedicated to Nikolai Dante. You may also know that I've kind of shelved it and it hasn't been updated since

the 20th Century. This has everything to do with me not having a lot of time these days and not being involved

with Dante on a professional level any more. I also don't own a complete set of Dantes' exploits in their

original progs and I've forgotten or lost most of the stuff that Robbie told/sent me. I'm getting fairly regular

queries from people about the site however and I'd like to be able to say that I was dealing with the problem.
So I need a fine stalwart Dante fan to help me out here. I'd like to have a complete 'story so far' to date, which

would involve reading a lot of back issues then writing a story summary, broken down into story arcs etc.

Preferably from the start of the 'Courtship of Jena Makarov' storyline onwards, 'cos I did a rush job on that one

and it could be a lot better. If relevant bits of exciting artwork could be scanned too then that would be a plus.

No webhackery would be required, I can do that bit and full credit would be given plus lots of people would love

you in a quiet, dignified 'Remains of the Day' type way.

Anyone up for it?
You can reply here or through    public@simonfraser.net

Thanks for your attention.

I'm sure my input here is quite redundant after such an outpouring of goodwill, but just to say that Bellardinelli was and obviously still is one of the greats! I am so happy to know that he's still around and still drawing.

I'm kicking myself for not having tried to find him when I lived in Rome.

Il vostro lavoro molto sta ispirando sempre a me ed a molti altri che decidessero lavorare in comics.
Grazie mille Maestro!

"It's not as if Simon Fraser isn't very free with his expert opinions on other people's work on the artdroids group and elsewhere"

But never about a fellow professional in public, unless solicited.

The exception being Dave Bishop who I had a dig at on the old Citroen mailing list some years back. Maybe this is his revenge.

"Got sketches from;

Hmmm, Simon DAVIS maybe. I`m pretty much certain I`ve never drawn Sinister in my life.
