I'm afraid my copy got folded the wrong way by the postman - who's not my regular postman. Arses. I've delivered mail. I know the score. Only an ignoramus would fold an A4 envelope across its width for posting. Grrr. That will reduce my enjoyment of it considerably. I had a flip through. Shakara had no tits or ass in it. Not good. Anyway, it looks like another good Prog - as good as last Prog and the Prog before that. Nice to see they're keeping up the good work!

crap pop star

I think that's unfair. Pop stars are meant to be crap. I wouldn't buy her music, but I would look forward to listening to it if I were near a radio tuned to the sort of radio station that plays it and they announced there was some Shakira coming up. And I wouldn't turn the TV over if one of her videos were showing. These days, As crap pop stars go, she's one of the least crap, I reckon.

Similarly, shouldn't the Gotno Sympathy orchestra have been playing something that explicitly wasn't our idea of the kind of 'classical mucis'-that teenagers wouldn't be listening to - or am i thinking of the Ennis era?

Ugh! You're so clichéd.

Devlin is a Meg character though, is he not? I was meaning the Prog specifically.

He's been in both.

I'm torn as to whether this is a truly genius piece of satire on American comics and politics, or if it is just absolute twaddle. It's making my head hurt! >:(

It's that one, the one underlined, in bold, in size 14 script.  ;)

How horrible!

I particularly liked this quote:

QuoteThis book contains fifteen pages of story, followed by eight pages of pin-ups of Sarah Palin. If you actually felt a little sick start to crawl up the back of your throat when your first saw that, I can guarantee you weren't the only one.

As the reviewer says, the plot makes no sense at all. I don't think 'we were doing it tongue-in-cheek' really cuts it as an excuse for nonsense like this.

Awful, awful, awful. A simple-minded comic for masturbating Nazis?

(Why so many scars on a medical person? I guess their healing tech only goes so far... but I'd think skin regeneration would remove  much of that stuff.)

Fetishism. She comes from a medical culture: maybe it's normal where she comes from to retain the outward signs of surgery to show what they've had done/repaired.

All those people who doubted we would have flying cars and robot servants in the future are proved wrong. Alright, I'll concede the flying cars thing, but I'm sure they're working on that.

What?  :-X
