General / New Alan Moore project..Albion
16 May, 2005, 02:42:59 PM
just found this little bit of info ovewr on Thealienonline. New Alan Moore project coming out thats gonna be using old British Superheroes and characters, names mentioned - Robot Archie, The Claw, Captain Hurricane? now I've never read about any of these characters but I did like Zenith and the article said that some of these character were used by Morrison in Zenith though slightly disguised. Nowe that these characters are coming back in print does it seem even less likely that Zenith will get the full Reprint it deserves(due to copyright infringement?), did Morrison have permision to use the characters when he wrote Zenith, if he didn't where does he get off holding up one of the best 2000AD stories from reprint over ownership issues?

anyone get one of the teasers for Albion at Bristol?
is it any good?

Nothing special content wise, I think a whole heap got water damaged so that issue only had a small print run. We had no problems getting them in OZ though.

I give any non-comic reading friends Preacher and find they all become instant addicts, just makes it hard to get my GN's back sometimes. Just check to see that they're not going to be offended by Relegion, Beasteality, Meatiality?, Swearing, tons of violence and gore, making fun of suicide, did I mention swearing and violence? Not one to give the kiddies I guess.  most just cant believe you can get something so extreeme in print

most superstitions are a load of crap, but it is interesting too see where they come from and of them all I just cant see a sane reason why Friday the 13th is so bad?
thanks for your explaination Scottie, if that is true surely only Christians should find the day bad, but I know plenty of Athiests and a few Muslims who still have a phobia about it, any other sugestions?
Well my days nearly up and no more misshaps yet, fingers crossed(there's another one, why's that a sign for luck? frig we're a superstious lot)

Off Topic / Friday The 13th..list your misshaps
13 May, 2005, 09:37:08 AM
well its that evil old day again, I have no idea why Friday the 13th is listed as an unlucky day, I mean there's a 13th in everymonth how come there not considered unlucky? anyone know how this superstion came about?
My day started great, had a strange cat in my house kicking my kitties ass at 3am this morning. Got up started to walk to work, half way there pissed down with rain. First thing thismorning at work, Arse hole on the phone telling me we've got  to send our serviceman around straight away to look at his Sola Hot water system, didn't understand its not safe to send people climbing on roofs when its raing bloody prick.
anyone else having a nice day?

one good thing, brought the new Nine Inch Nails CD 'With Teeth' Only had one listen so far last night. I quite like, not as good as Downward Spiral or Fragile seems like Rezi's just treading water for this one.

Magnum Macho 3000 Sniper-Rifle, they just dont make em like that anymore.  What ABC stories that from, one of the few strips where I quite like the older stories, is that the first time we meet BlackBlood? was he once an enemy of the ABC Warriors? I must know.
Wish I had the cash and the access to Cons to get me self some art, there's no comic cons in Western Australia that I know of.

looks good, bout time we got some more work off Mark Harrison just love his computer assisted style seems to have way more line work in it than Langly's. Maybee this will be more in the style of the Prog2005 cover any one got links to preview images of The Ten Seconders?
