Spot on Art.

Sci-Fi isn't about predicting the future, it's about holding a mirror up to society and showing the cracks.

That's why I love Mega City One not just as a setting but as a concept, a petri dish of the insanities of today extrapolated into the most extreme ways.

Or is that a bit too Grant Morrisonish and it's all about big stampy robots?

They could have added a few battle maps White Dwarf stylee to give us a sense of who is actually winning the battle!

Website and Forum / Re: The Debate Debate
03 February, 2004, 04:30:26 PM
Question: What is it that people want to get out of the message board?

Do you want a place of serious debate?
A place of comic related silliness?
Or a happy medium? (which would be very hard to accomplish)

The more I think about it, the more I'm in favor of Slips' split board idea: One for debate and one for off topic fun. That way, people who like to debate between each other can have a place to enjoy themselves doing what they do, and the rest can have a place where they can enjoy themselves, possibly without the narcissistic drivel that a few of us bang on about occasionally ;).

Doozers have cute ickle tools and cool little hats and they all probably go to the pub after work and they have fantastic scaffolding skills!

Apart from my subscription to the prog and Meg, I only really get Fortean Times regularly although that too has been somewhat lacking lately. In my *ahem* younger days (about six years ago) I used to get White Dwarf until I realised that it was basically an expensive monthly advert for new Games Workshop stuff.

Help! / Re: How many Judges are there in M...

Originally, the Judges were "Super-cops" that supported the normal police force. There were only a few of them at a time, about a dozen or so. Now of course, you've got loads!

To get the number, all you'd have to do is multiply the number of Judges per sector house by the number of sectors, add in admin staff, tek and med judges, psi division, the Grand Hall staff and the senior Judges as well as the Undercovers Judges, the Judges in space and the military Judges.

St Valentines day:
The one day in the year when the Trout's all consuming evil and hatred recedes like a chief accountants hair line.

Slips- If we can't be bitter, then can we be twisted?

I know that Coca-Cola invented Christmas and Nestle invented Easter, but who invented Valentines Day? Celebrations? Thorntons?

St Valentine was probably some mad old scote that lived in a cave and scourged himself thrice daily with prickley sticks (a sure sign of holiness), what has he got to do with all of the cards, candy, teddybears that say "I wuv you" and frilly figgin pink crap that gets shoved down young girls throats by the magazines (with Gareth Gates on the cover) that they are brainwashed into buying by barbie commercials? Eh?

Or is it just that I haven't had a card since the age of four?
