How about we all become flesh eating mutants? We could dance around a graven image of Tharg every full moon.
Plus we'd lose lots of weight since we'd be on the Atkins diet.

Cannablism: The new Hollywood fad diet.

I'm going to get a nice Mohawk, wear American Football gear and have the buttocks cut out of my trews. I'm also going to have a motorbike with lots of unnecessary spikes sticking out of it.

"I am the NIGHTRIDER!"

Help! / Re: RORSCHACH !??

Ink blots are whatever you're brain recognises them as, whether it's a butterfly or a dead dog. They're designed to bring out parts of yourself through associations, giving insight into how someones mind works.
So whever someone looks at Rorsach, they're looking into themselves...

That or Alan Moore thought "Hmm, psycho with ink blot face, COOL!"

If you want edgier superheroes, then get yourself Supreme Power from Marvel's MAX imprint or the superb Planetary from Wildstorm, both are currently my favorite American Comics.

Wouldn't mind seeing a superhero in tooth, perhaps an expansion on Black Siddha, that has a lot of potential, especially since it seems like Mills is finally edging away from preaching to us.

Moral is: Think before you post.
I know that I had a go at Krusty as a knee jerk reaction a while back and got told off for it by a lot of poeple, I felt severely guilty and realised that my post was nasty and apologised, but I still feel guilty about it. Now he's sort of grown on me, at least, I think that's him between my toes :). There have been other times when I've gotten pissed off at something someone posted, but I've tried to ignore it or at least to try to be reasonable with them. Sadly, there are people who like to argue for arguments sake.

Just got to remember that this is a muted form of communication, there wouldn't be any personal attacks if we were all talking to each other face-to-face.

My prog's at home right now, unopened, carrying an ocean of smells to bewitch my nasal sensors. I get through Mondays just waiting to get home, gently open the envelope and stick my nose in, getting a waft of the heady musk of thrill power.

I'll get me coat.

Off Topic / But is it worth it?
30 January, 2004, 11:04:16 PM
Okay, here's my dilemma:

I like comics.

I like to read comics, I like to read about comics. Recently, I've begun to write them.
Yeah okay, they're probably a load of derivative crap, but I enjoy writing them. I've always had a sort of pipe dream of becoming a proffesional writer ever since I picked up my first Spider-Man comic when I was a wee nipper.

What I want to know is this: How hard is it to get published? How long does it take? I've already submitted a future shock to 2000AD last October and haven't heard anything back and I've finished off another one that is semi-readable after going through umpteen drafts.

What I really want to know is: Is it worth bothering or should I give up now and stick to my dead-end job?

Don't believe the movies krestel, it's nasty, cold, wet, slippery icky stuff.
Only get it once every couple of years or so down here, mind you though, those cool sea breezes do freeze the essentials if you get my meaning!

General / Re: Moloch

I thought that it was the name of Athena's owl. I'm sure that it originally had someting to do with owls.

Anyway, apart from that, Moloch is just a name that is handy to writers looking for something suitable to call a demon. Nigel just doesn't work.

Neither does Andy.
