I'm all for the debate tagline but I'm unsure as to whether it may make a differance.

how cheap magazines are compared to comics in general.

Is this because they have a larger reader base? (purely guesswork by the way, not based on any hard facts whatsoever)

I remember seeing this advertised yonks ago but there was no word of when it was commong.

I thought it looked fantastic and the early reviews agreed.

I'm always way late for this thread.

Dredd - bit of a let down I thought after the last couple of weeks.  Not keen on the art, the skull bloke didn't do much for me either (I've missed the prologue) and its a pity because I exected more given the writting team

VC's - Cant make my mind up about this story at all.  Not sure where its all leading to.

terror tales - these are passable ways to spend a few pages but I did prefer last weeeks.

Slaine - I feel this is just not up to the standard of the old Slaine stuff.  It all feels very bitty with no real flow and I couldn't find myself feeling sorry about Scotas death when she practically ran to Godacon (whose got a great demon on his back controlling him) as if nothing was wrong (or have I got it wrong?)

Red Seas - this is becomming a real highlight of the mag for me.  Harrhausen in comics is really how it feels and it just brings back memeroies of soo many films.

Help! / Re: RORSCHACH !??

I remember the bits that Trout is on about.  Theres quite a few places where Rorsachs blots give an idea to the "emotion" of the character rather like many other masked types eye-holes do

I have to agree with whats already been said.

The gane is truely mediocre at its best and in many is really only made worth playing by the fact that you are Dredd in his World.

Given that, the world should have been presented better with more cits and transport.  The only other thing that really bothered me was the vampires which seemed out of place.  If I wanted to fight vampires then I would have bought a horror FPS instead of this.  Surely there is enough variety in Dredds world to create a challenging game without having to drag something like that up to create challenging enemies.

I don't think you should plan a character in that fasion.  Yeah, you can create a story arc that could last for a long while, but whats the point if the story is crap and no-one likes it.  At the same time a character can grow on you after a while and so some need time to come to terms with.

Pat mills Accident Man in Toxic was one.  I really hated hime at first, and the  stories just kept comming.  As they went on (I never do not read part of a comic/mag) I slowly grew to like the character because of the back-histry he was building.

I realise that Accident Man is a far cry from what DD was initially propsing but it just serves my purpose to highlight facts.

I think everyone would love to see a high qualilty, epic story within 2000AD but the problem is that these stories cant be created out of thin air.

They don't just appear because you want to write one and I would feel that the harder you try to write one then the more likely you are to fail. IMHO.

Don't get me wrong, I love the idea, I just fel thst its not that easy to generate.

Wasn't Zenith a superhero? (of a sort)

Like krestel says, I think a super hero story could work with the right angle.  Perhaps not a traditional superhero story.  Something a little edgier and differant.

I don't have a problem with this so long as it is well written and presented.

When these things are done wrong it just screws everything up. IMHO.

Yeah there have been personal, attacks on this board but most of the time people go away and come back later and withdraw comments or apologise in some way.

It is easy to respond in a knee jerk reaction to waht has been said if it triggers your emotions and I have sometimes noticed that a few of the heated responses have also come from people who are drunk at the time.

This is a good place to hang out and while it would be great to avoid the personal attacks I feel that they may just continue to happen, but so long as they re-read and re-evaluate then hopefully it will get the apologies.  People here do seem ready to admit thatb they can be wrong.
