A timely reminder of how lucky we were to realise how rubbish original Rogue was and replace him with this obviously superior character... YEOWW!!

Found it more enjoyable than the components suggested i would - the return of Mickey and Slitheen worked a lot better here than their preivious appearance would have suggested... convinces me even more that the direction of the first block was squiffy.

Eccleston has definitely improved as hes gone on, but  still feel hes uncomfortable with the sci-fi elements of the show.  He'll put great emotion into an..erm.. emotional speech, but he still seems slightly embarassed when talking about time rifts and the end of the world..

Nicely convenient get out for the Doctor at the end there, though!

Id agree  - the series hs rarely reachd the heights of the old series, but it is finding its feet, and as you say, the importatn thing is its a mile away from the oddly insular thing it became in the 80s

Actually, I thought the opposite - there are 50% wannabe models in the Michelle mode, the Tory seems interesting, the witch looks certifiable, as did the hairdresser... the rest seem identikit anti-people, with no opinions on anything above their own self worth... No Jon Tickles or Alex's in that bunch from the look of it.

I think they've learnt from last years that hate works better than love - get lots of objectionable types in, rather than a mix of "goodies" and "baddies".

Still, we'll see...

New stront - praise the lord!

Some interesting sounding stuff there - not sure how the new talent special will feature names people have heard of though! :)

It'd be nice of Dez if he did a reduced rate thing for you small pressers - he might bite, given he was keen to promote stuff in the past.

I do wonder if his small press promo pages were a bit ahead of their time - maybe he could try and relaunch them in this new climate of even more small press activity?

I'm still liking the new series - the only major bug bear I have had is with the Dalek one, which didnt work once I'd tried and failed to rationalise the dna pinching ability of the Dalek.  I didnt mind the "sentimental" stuff in Fathers Day, cos thats what it was about - Dalek on the other hand was one episode that we didnt really need to see buffyed up.

Well done to the Wagner

Anyone see Newsnight review last night?  They were discussing History of Violence, but I only caught the last two sentences....
