I also think you run out of ammo far too quickly. TOo many times have i reached the checkpoint with no health, no ammo and a hundred vampires. It doesnt help promote interest in the game. I've gotten to level 10 and now its getting stupid. :(

not for you perhaps, but i have found killing those damn vampires a real chore. by comparison the dark judges are easy!

game does need more variation; thats one criticism i agree with. after a while its just undead over and over. wears thin it does.

also i cant understand why i cannot add bots in all the mp modes - regardless of how many players are plugged in.

Yes but this is supposed to be a game, having to continually restart the level because i suck is not part of the deal. its not as if the box says 'warning: dont play if you arent godlike at fps games'.

No, unsporting is being unable to save the game when you are in an unlit room with a thousand baying vampires and your lawgiver just gave out.

it mihgt sound atmospheric, and it can be, but it gets real frustrating real quick.
I am having the same problem with Timesplitters 2.

From what i can tell you are probably better off with the pc version. i have the ps2 version and the mp modes arent as good as advertised because of silly limits. plus, as with most ps2 games, you cannot save during levels (why this is always the case i will never know). The game is good but short, the graphics are great but the dark judges (so far) are pretty lame. The game is a bit too much resident evil than perhaps judge dredd for my tastes ultimately, but its a good effort.

General / DvD on the ps2 Q

To anyone who has completed this and unlocked everything (or knows) on the ps2 version; can you unlock the ability to add bots to every mp mode in the game?

Strange question, but as it is i find the mp modes pretty poor (certainly compared to something like timesplitters 2). Even with other players, the modes that dont allow the inclusion of bots are rubbish - i mean a 4 player Block War? Small block! Or a 2 player Runner game? hmmm.

So far i like the main game, but i agree that it is too short (im on level 9, the dark judges are easy to beat). I like my games to have a good longevity but the mp in this is nothing outstanding - and there are many other games out there that offer more. So unless there is more i havent seen (hence the question), ill probably be trading it back to get something else.

Shame really, a good dredd game is just what the world needs (not love sweet love, citizen).

One thing I am disappointed about, perhaps the most (other than constantly being cuaght short of ammo!) is that for 1 player + bots MP, there are less modes than for at least 2 controllers plugged in. This means I cant use bots to play things like bounty hunter or Runner mp games unless other humans are involved.

Are there more MP skins to unlock? I was a bit disappointed (Ps2) that the Dark Judges at least arent included as skins. THe initial selection is satisfactory but not really exciting i guess. My only real complaint thus far, having owned it for 2 hours.

What does the ps2 version have by way of MP modes; i find i get more out of a game if it has decent replay value (i generally dont play stories over and over).

I have the ps2 version; obviously you are a god at fps shooters since each level has taken me at least an hour alone! That might be because the save function (as for most ps2 games) stinks - ie you cannot save except between levels. Why designers always use this I dont know since it causes so much frustration to have to go back to the last checkpoint constantly.

As far as complaints; other than the save mode the only gripe i have is that multiplayer you need at least one other player to access all available modes. you can play single player versus bots (although for some reason i dont think you can add bots when there are a couple of human players, which would render the team modes pointless). This is unfortunate because they add a lot of variety and i like games that have extensive replay value.

Maybe you can unlock them or something.

Also the maps i have seen and unlocked so far are ok but i hope there are some more; given that MC1 is an urban sprawl it makes the maps soimewhat repetitive at times - esp[ecially if you are used to regular fps games as the maps have that industrial feel. they are well done though.

i think the graphics are good myself; as for the story, well most computer games have rubbish stories anyway. i think this is ok, its just an excuse to fight the dark judges; what else could they have done.
