Sooo many cool things!

I still have a Chopper. I'm working on turning it into a low rider. It's gonna have a leopard print seat and i'm desperately trying to get some luminous pink cro-mag wheels for it. For anyone horrified by this i should point out that it's knackered and will never be worth anything.
I was born right in the middle of the 76 drought, so i obviously dont remember it but i did have a hand-me down skateboard. It was dead flat, no kick, big lumps of plastic all over it to prevent grind damage and it was as big as me!
Oh, the memories. And the injuries.

I still have my battle-scarred X wing, it's hanging from my ceiling on fishing line. Many moons ago, my ex had a 'house' at-at that used to roam about the place at night. It was particularly fond of cocking a leg up the fridge. And it had a hand made bumper sticker reading 'my other car's a death star'. Damn, i miss that lil at-at.
Otherwise, i vote Thundercats. Although my Thundertank was never quite the same after the cat attacked it.

Yeah, that's a bugger. I'm not best pleased with the Transplants doing that god-awful Garnier ad either

General / Re: The problem with new stories.....

I'm not sure about age being a factor. I didn't start reading tooth until i was 17, so i didn't really grow up with any characters. Having said that, the strip that kept me hooked right at the start was the fantastic Mazeworld. Now I'd call that a classic, but in the grand scheme of things, as it were, it actually had a preety short run (IIRC) and probably would suffer from being extended into several books. Having said that, Sinister Dexter was a long term favorite too (has it really only been going for 5 years?? That doesn't seem right) and it's one of the few stories that i've read right from the first strip and with the exception of the whole 'lets go into space' thing', I've always really enjoyed it. I think that's because it's not just about two hitmen, it's about a whole other world.

Getting back to Dr. X's original point, yeah, i think theres a couple of relatively recent stories that would do great with epics and being brought back time after time. How about Caballistics, Red Seas, even 'teleguff' would be a wonderful setting IF a truly epic story could be devised.

Strangely on-topic Tanky x

I only got me prog today, so this is going back a bit and a little tenuous...

WoD: Maybe the hunter judges were drawn as MC1 judges because the bad man who used to have a bit part in buffy was trying to make Dredd soil his undies. My point being, Dredd is used to bad guys hunting him down, trying to kill him etc. But maybe not so much from his own team.
Just a thought.

Also,

Art: YAAAAAAAAAY!

Floyd: Hah! Right with you there matey!

I really, really like Red Seas. If there's one thing cooler than a giant deathsquid, it's a bunch of pirates commentating. 'Ooh, he's a big fella' heh!

Having trouble with VC's. This strip's never really caught me and the current stoy hasn't changed anything. Nice pictures though.

Speaking of nice pictures, I've said it before and i'll say it again, Clint Langley kicks ass! It's a shame Slaine's over for a bit. Not much seems to have happened it this book. I love the legend at the end though

I love computer art. It's the only medium i ever seem to work in these days (and i don't do enough of that either) I think Clint Langley's stuff is awesome and i'd love to know what he uses. If i have a gripe, it's that there's sometimes a little too much jammed in to some of his smaller panels. Probably because he pays sooo much attention to detail. I find it's very easy to get bogged down with this when you're working in a way which allows you to change as much as you like as often as you like with no 'side effects'. Go Clint!

on topic twice in one day?! Go me!

Hang on, i'm getting confused! (again)

Bearing in mind my much-publicised impending travel plans, (inc. as u know singapore, oz and usa) is it time i high-tailed it to the local bureau de change? Or should i sort as i go?
