'I'd only been watching it so that she couldn't watch Black Beauty on the other side.'

You, sir, are a bastard.

Cheers, Conexus and Noah!  I'm curious to see it again, as I was a bit young when it first got shown, and barely remember any of it.  My dad's a long-time sci-fi fan, though, and I can buy that for him as a belated birthday pressie, because he'll watch anything.  He has the LXG movie on dvd, you know.  And Species 2.

What was the name of that show about a manned mission to Mars, where they found a replica of one of the astronauts home town, and some martians poisoned them all with cake?
It's been bugging me for years, this.

Have fun, but don't do drugs, don't eat the brown rocks, and stay away from the yellow snow.

Another vote for the Nail.
Was the one you're thinking of 'Batman - the Demon', DXB?  There were a couple of references to 2000ad in that one, as I recall (Bruce Wayne has a painting of an ancestor called Slayne, for one).
Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow is classed as an Elseworlds tale, as is Dark Knight Returns - both recommended.
And I'm not a huge Batman fan, but Son of the Demon is recommended, too - if only to scratch your head and wonder why it's an Elseworlds tale when the final twist puts an interesting plot element into the Batman mythos.  I have a habit of spoilering things on the board, so I won't mention it here.

I'd say skive, but I do it when everybody else IS looking.  I do about 2-3 hours work first thing in the morning, then just look busy where everyone can see me.  All the clutter on my work area hides the fact that I'm reading (comics mostly), scribbling or watching a portable 3-inch telly.  I've seen a cheapo portable dvd player locally, too... heh.
Pick me nose(but don't eat it, I'm just cleaning it out), headbang to rock music, scratch or adjust me bollocks, plait my beard, and occaisionally, I also preen my silken fur with my long, moist tongue - like a big lassie!  Don't tell anyone!

There's an extract from Banksie's new one, too.  Now I've read a whole THREE proper science fiction books in my life, I'm thinking of buying it - getting ideas above meself, eh?

Anyone recommend a good Banksie or M Banksie book that's already out?  I've read Use of Weapons, which had someone who wasn't himself at all, and some woman got turned into a chair, but I enjoyed it anyway.

"Y-you're burning down my hotel?"
"Yeah.  It's infested with a rat."

"My dok!  You've got no eyes!"
"So what?  You've got no teeth!"

I'd also like to play Godzilla on the stage.

Current outfit goes by the name 'Battlekat'. God knows how long this one'll last, but we play rock covers, mainly, some blues and punk.  Before that, I was in Slutsgonuts, Bastard Asshole (really), and several bands that never played a single gig before someone threw a wobbler and everything went wahoonie-shaped, but I really wish I'd got a chance to put one of the efforts of 'What God has created man will destroy' onto demo before it all went a bit wrong, as the name alone was fantastic.  It was only thrash-metal stuff, though.

And pish, though that goes without saying.

Kill all the humans.
Climb Kilimanjaro.
Visit the Australian bush/Grand Canyon/Alaska..
Travel the Amazon/Orient.
Be in a band that lasts more than six months.
Become a father.
See the introduction of non-polluting renewable energy within my own lifetime, so I know my kids will be okay.
Become a half-decent artist.

Life's very short, I'm coming to realise.
I'd also like to ensure that everyone knows my tombstone's epitaph - "Thank God he drowned before the giant crabs got him"

News / Re: Alien 5

Sorry, Gary, my bad.

In my defence, though, it's one film you don't need to see, period.  And the word 'spoiler' suggests some kind of surprise is in the offing.  Not a chance - it's pretty much movie-making by the numbers, which in and of itself shouldn't be a problem if the movie itself is at least entertaining.  But there's a criminal waste of Lance Henrikson, the Predators are complete pussies, and we only get ONE proper Alien/Predator fight in the whole film.
It IS still better than Alien Resurrection, though.
