If you don't reply at length then there isn't much for the person who replies to you to go on, except for having a go at the fact that you misread that part of Oddboy's original post. If there's one thing that annoys me (especially when marking coursework which is what I'm supposed to be doing at the moment), it's people who don't even read the instructions.

Fake (recreated) artwork is only likely to occur for big names. Here is an example of a recreated Bolland cover. The logo, price, prog number and word balloon are stats and the rest is inks. At the moment this page is noted by Kevin Grice as being a recreation, but who knows what might happen in the future if he passes it on.

Even for original covers, then can sometimes be doubt as to whether the artwork has been drawn for the cover itself, or whether it is a photostat of an interior frame - so again this would be a case where a signature might help the value.

Signatures that were written at the time the art was created can certainly add value, and desirability, especially if there is any doubt as to the true artist, plus sometimes artists seem to sign panels which particularly like.

My Frank Hampson Dan Dare page wouldn't be worth as much as it is (about ?2000-?2500), if it wasn't signed.

Signatures after the event can make artwork slightly easier to sell, and therefore I guess marginally more valuable, but only if the signature is in the border, and not within the boundary of the published image.

Richard Elson has just sent me scans of the first episodes of The Scrap and Atavar to list on 2000AD Online at ?30 each. He is now on the featured artists' list on the 2000AD Artwork Gallery

or is there something that you don?t get or see if you read the board by e-mail?

The icon of each thread starter (and the most recent poster) appears on the Message Board index page. Sometimes you see someone post to lots of different threads one after the other so they get a string of their icon in the last poster column.

Though I didn't recognise the name Beyonce which somewhat spoilt that strip. I do recognise her voice though (I currently have her website open in the background)

Yes, I did like your strips. I read them before I realised how they had been created, but they're still better than many of the other ones on the site on a second reading.

I couldn't write one like the Garfield comic creator. My web-fu doesn't currently extend to Flash.

Pretty cool idea. Given enough free time, I could write a 2000AD equivalent, though it might need some reworking to allow for action as well as just talking heads.

That book is out of print, I'm afraid, but comes up on eBay from time to time.

The problem with using the Rico image on his profile page is that the picture is of Dredd carrying Rico - you can't see much of Rico himself.

I found a nocats image on the Internet to use as an icon when Scojo got himself banned the first time around.
