I am a Scotman for the battle itself...wearing the blue bonnet and grey coat of a Covenentor. For the pre-battle display I'm a civilian, which probably means a felt hat and a blue doublet...or brown singlet if it's hot.

Off Topic / Hoghton Tower, Preston

If anyone is within striking distance of Preston and wants to see me in doublet and hose this weekend, I'll be at Hoghton Tower. I think the living history campsite is open to the public from 11am until 5pm each day with a battle between around 2:30 and 4. Most people on the living history campsite should be able to point you in the direction of my tent, even if I'm not there at the time.

A few weeks ago I won a page of Dan Dare by Massimo Belardinelli from Prog 1 at bid-up.tv. Now they're telling me it's out of stock and they can't supply it! My theory is that the seller has refused to give it up because he wants more money for it. If anyone sees the 2nd page of Dan Dare (the one after the centre spread) anywhere please let me know.

The Daily Star Dredd's are in the database, so I just need the correct titles so I can match the reprints up with them. Ditto Robotales, etc.

Do you mean the Beyond 2000AD page for stuff which has been reprinted in 2000AD, etc but first saw publication elsewhere?

And here's me kicking myself for having sold copies of both books for between ?10 and ?20 and now I've decided to only sell spares I'll probably have to pay more than ?20 each to replace them.

If Pat has managed to write a good story, I think Clint Langley's art will support it. His Telguuth was pretty good, and it's a lot lusher than the last Slaine artwork we had (David Bircham) which was very flat.

When I spoke to him at Andy Diggle's leaving do last December, he was impressed that letterers were receiving any credits at all on the website. Little does he know that he's in 8th place on the top creators list, with a thrillpower of 9.23!

Without checking the database, I think Soviet Sam (aka Judge Dudus) may be the youngest poster.

I recently bought both Charley's War Books on eBay for a total of ?72 including shipping...annoying since I last sold them for ?40 total.

Well the reserve isn't ?50 or less :-) In reality if it's ?100 that's fine, but more than that is pushing the boat out a little.

I don't like reserve prices either, though they can be useful if you want to find out how much people are prepared to pay without actually risking selling the item at too low a price.

To recap, for anyone who hasn't read the input page of prog 1310, there's a 2000AD Film night at the Phoenix Cinema in Oxford on the 25th October.

I'm going to be in Amsterdam visiting my sister in law. Damn!
