Messages - Wake

Therefore you can use common swearwords like cunt, fuck, shit, bugger, etc. in moderation.

I've just added the age check so swearing in moderation is fine. If in doubt, try and think of the differences between a 15 and an 18 certificate for a film.

The next version of the code is now up. Hopefully small pressers, etc. can now relax.

I'm not going to be editing old messages and this code of conduct isn't due to the Kingsley thread. I'm working on some revisions of the code of conduct and may be adding a '15 certificate' to the board so that we can keep vulgar (but not abusive) language.

In general the point of the code of conduct is not to change the personality of this message board, but just to give it some boundaries. If there is anything in the code of conduct which contradicts generally accepted practice on this site, then it is probably the code not the practice that needs to change. However, please wait until the next version of the code has been uploaded before telling me what you don't like about it.

I've checked with Rebellion and removed 'contests' from 14.

I imagine that there made be a few more edits over the next day or so.

Announcements / 2000 AD Online Code of Conduct
12 June, 2007, 04:15:52 PM
I've just added a code of conduct to the site, as given to me by Rebellion. Most of it should be pretty obvious, but the most important bits are:

You may not use sexually explicit or ethnically offensive language

You may not defame, abuse, harass, stalk, threaten or otherwise violate the legal rights (such as rights of privacy and publicity) of others.

If you aren't sure about something that you want to post or want to complain about something someone else has posted please email/sendmail me.

Cheers,

Wake

You win a raffle even though you have paid for raffle tickets. This is a reverse auction, which means that you spend a small amount of money to bid in the hope that you will be lucky enough to come away with something worth far more than you have spent.

I'm with Clint on that one. Threads only very rarely get frozen, so when one does you should think twice before referring back to it.

"The Executive Side-Arm For The Gentleman Assassinâ?¦"

Presenting The Armstrong Siddeley â??Royal Albertâ? Vibro-Beamer â?? the most devastating hand held weapon ever devised!

This replica of Luther Arkwrightâ??s most iconic weapon is constructed from ABS plastic, metal parts and hand carved wooden grips. The beamer is authentically weighted and given an extremely convincing weathered steel finish. Each will come with an individually sourced and hand restored genuine Victorian/Edwardian presentation case and as such each one will be a unique collectorâ??s item.

The case label featured on the website has been designed by Jason Willbourn after Bryanâ??s original illustrations. The production version will feature a new label by Bryan himself! (he is delighted with the beamer and has given it his full backing)

To put the Vibro-Beamer into production we will need at least 10 deposits of £20 â?? the full retail price is expected to be £200 plus postage.

For photos and the opportunity to pay a deposit, please follow the link.

I started with the cover image sent to be by Jon, but it was lower resolution than I wanted so I asked for one from Kathryn. I changed the Savage cover at the same time.

I've been told that this Savage book contains all the stories to date but not whether there are more to come.
