I'll have a table...near the Tardis and Dalek exhibition. I don't have that much for sale: Dredd, Blake's 7 and Dan Dare badges, but I'll also hopefully have Dogbreath and Zarjaz from FutureQuake.

I might have a small number of Dredd helmets available and Jon Bayliss will be there with me.

I'll try to make it to the pub on Saturday evening too.

Cheers,

Wake

News / BARNEY updated! Props to The Cosh
30 March, 2011, 11:10:18 AM
Thanks to a sterling effort by The Cosh, BARNEY is not only back up to date for the progs and megs, but some of the more recent graphic novels have been added too (mostly the Judge Dredd case files).

Hopefully I'll be able to do some more work on the site over the summer and autumn before I get busy again next winter.

I did think of trying to modify a Dredd badge to change the name to CARTER, WAKE, TERMIGHT, GOTH or INTRUSION but decided I couldn't make a change that would look high enough quality. That's why I want to produce Psi badges. Then I wouldn't have to keep the helmet on the whole time.

Quote from: Lee Bates on 09 March, 2011, 10:46:40 AMThat looks incredible! Are those shoulder pads as heavy as they look? You'd end up with permanent spine damage if you tried pogoing with them on.

The shoulder pads are fibreglass. Not heavy enough to be uncomfortable...much less than a suit of chain main. My Velcro attachment system needs some work, so I had to keep checking on them while I was dancing, and not be too energetic. Visibility was okay until the visor misted up, and it was of course really hot -- especially since I was wearing an SD beanie hat under the helmet to keep it in place.

I wore this at a goth club night (uniform theme) in Oxford last night.

Badge, buckle and helmet by Termight Replicas.
Shoulder, knee and elbow pads by Jon Bayliss (who also makes the Termight Replicas helmet).
Leathers by AS-Supplies.
Gloves, boots and belt pouches from the Galleries of Justice uniform as made for DreddCon:1. These are the last bits I need to upgrade, especially since the belt pouches are sewn shut.
Chain from B&Q.

For more photos see Facebook.

I think the last batch of helmets was the last batch but you never know!

There should be at least one more batch, but using slightly scratched respirator badges. Once I have completely run out of metal respirator badges that will be a definite end to that run. I don't want to sell helmets with resin badges, and making more metal ones would be too costly.

Cheers,

The helmet in the photo is, in case anyone didn't already realise, from Termight Replicas (as modelled here by Leigh Gallagher).

The Class of 79 yahoo group sends an automated reminder about the Megazine every four weeks. It isn't currently active as a fanzine (print or Internet), as far as I am aware.

More recently legal letters have been sent to webpages presenting the story online.''

I can't believe they're still pursuing this! How petty.

That might depend on who the letters are from.

If you post the surname you want, a helpful soul might upload an image of that badge to this thread.

I have an experiment that works fine on my PC, but when the student runs it on her laptop, the videos go black when they have finished instead of staying on the final frame.

The experiment is here: http://www.2000ad.org/psych/cups/ and only works on IE. On the first screen click on the star or the black bar to start, and the black bar between trials.

The code I am using for embedding the video is:

<OBJECT ID="MediaPlayer" WIDTH="480" HEIGHT="384" CLASSID="CLSID:6BF52A52-394A-11d3-B153-00C04F79FAA6"
STANDBY="Loading Windows Media Player components..." TYPE="application/x-oleobject">
<PARAM NAME="URL" VALUE="<?php echo $video; ?>.wmv">
<PARAM name="AutoStart" VALUE="true">
<PARAM name="uiMode" VALUE="none">
</OBJECT>

Any ideas of how to fix it on the student's laptop so the last frame stays visible?
