What does anyone think of the choice of actor to play Doom in the new FF film? I must say it's an interesting choice but having seen him in Charmed and Nip/Tuck I think he can manage it.

Nip/Tuck actor Julian McMahon will play Dr. Doom in the upcoming Fantastic Four movie, according to Variety.

McMahon, who stars as Dr. Christian Troy on the acclaimed FX show, will join a cast that includes fellow FX star Michael Chiklis (The Shield), Jessica Alba (Honey), Ioan Gruffudd (King Arthur), and Chris Evans (The Perfect Score).

The movie goes into production in Vancouver this month for 20th Century Fox. Tim Story (Barbershop) is directing. The film is tentatively scheduled for a July 2005 release.

Gulag is getting really good. Who is the mysterious clone? Is it Orloc or could it be the General from Apocalypse wars, sorry not good at remembering names. What a line up of Judges should be some sparks flying as we go.

Bec and Kawl is a great laugh. Has a slight feeling of been there done that in other comics. BUT having said that i shall probably enjoy it any way.

Sorry that's all i have time for at the mo. Will have to come back later. All in all a good issue AND i read all the stories which is a bonus!

General / Shawshank Redemption
04 January, 2004, 05:31:35 AM
I know i'm really sad, but i have finally got round to watching The Shawshank Redemption. What a stunning film. That warden was a drokkin sadist. Morgan Freeman's narration was spot on. That was a nice evening spent. On here and a good film. What more could one want?

Sorry i know this has nothing to do with comics but hey just had to say this :-)

WOW! that was great fun. Very laid back and funky. The Oxford Union was brilliant. It had the a Christian Society there the night before!

The best moment for me was when the dealer who was bothering Jock trying to  get him to sell the cover art to The Losers at a very cheap price. Then Mark Chapman came over and got Jock to read a text and Jock turned round to the dealer and said "no he wouldn't sell the pieces." The text that came through was Entertainment Weekly has announced that Andy Diggle has been named this years break through talent. Now that is the best news ever. So i am glad Jock didn't sell. I think the dealer was called Fat Boy Dale.

Gem you are brilliant. What a star. The meal in The Opium Den was top notch. Mike's sketch for Wesley at the Jongleurs was suberb. The luminous drinks were Aftershocks.

Roll on next year.
