Off Topic / Re: The Darkness - Why?

The Darkness are just tedious. I know the UK music press is geared to the "build 'em up, knock 'em down" mentality, but when Justin Hawkins bans the NME from shows because they wrote a bad review, you've got to question how much more his head can travel up his anal pathways.

The whole FNM/nu-metal thing....some early nu-metal ain't that bad, like the first two Deftones albums. But then it wasn't called nu-metal back then and we didn't have the LinkinBizkitPapaAntfarmCharlotte barrage of gash that followed in it's wake.

Rather worringly, most of my early-20s friends stand around outside looking embarassed if I go into a comic shop in Reading. They haven't even got the decency to wait until they reach cringing-age.

I have tattoos, but don't listen to Radio 4. Although the middle-of-the-road-ish nature of the stereo at work means I listen to far much more indie music than a self-respecting metalboy really should.

Huzzah! Thanks Max. Although at the moment my computer is hating the chatroom, and refusing to let it work. So my splendid new Monkey icon won't be up for a while yet.

Max, are you on the porn again?

Peep Show is class. It has far too many "get out of my brain!" moments than any decent programme should.

My job positively encourages drinking at work.

We're a "wine merchant" you see. Not one of those common off-licenses, oh no.

As a young teenage lad, Endjinna and a few of his mates were sitting on a bench in a fairly deserted supermarket car park, necking a few cans of lager. When a member of staff leaving the store drove her car into a wall about 10 metres away from us and started screaming.

They were okay, but for a couple of seconds we looked at each other and you could tell none of us wanted to go over there and find a mangled body in the passenger seat.

I liked both the Synnamon cover and strip, and am looking forward to the series of shorter Synnamon stories we were told we're getting.

Red Seas is a more than welcome return - I'm liking this more and more with every story.

Everything else carries on much the same as so far - Dredd is awesome, Lobster is cracking, and Faces is nothing to be ashamed of.
