General / Alan Moore's Shocking Futures
28 August, 2004, 02:55:19 AM
Just a quickie to let people know that Alan Moore's Shocking Futures and Twisted Tales have popped up on Supranova.org.

As they're ruddy impossible to find, worth a look if you haven't read them.

Some assorted 2000AD stuff is there too, but most of it is available there now as well so you'd be better with the originals.
Mostly good stuff!

Yeah, it's like 'gay poof' as kids sometimes say. Surely it means straight?

Yes, that's it! The Beast was what they had to unite against.

I've read that DXB! Pretty nifty really. He got Hawkman and his people, The Batman (who was insane) and got rid of Luthor, King Kal's 'advisor' who insisted that Kal wore a green necklace as a charm because he was sickly and claimed it was the only thing between the king and death (wink wink)

Fun

Yeah, that episode cracked me up. I wasn't expecting a good show but they handled it very well. Good stuff!

Yes, that's a good one. Supes crashing a few hundred years ago in Earth's history. Lady Lois and Baron Luthor. Told quite well, nice art.

There are some real stinkers out there, but I think overall they come in for too much stick as a series. They're fun, throwaway changes from the norm. Sometimes you get a little more, sometimes a little less.

Oh, yes. That's damn good. There are some really good ones out there. A few crummy ones, but they're all worth a try just for the novelty IMO.

Elseworlds you mean?

I've read and enjoyed quite a few. The first Batman/Superman Generations was a larf, the second two less so.

Will it be possible to do what you describe with an external HD? Only I think it requires XP to 'see' the Hard Drive.

If I put the folder on CD, F-Disc C:, then change to D: (my CD drive) would I be able to run setup direct from the CD?

Help! / Re: IMPORTANT!

Thankls guys, I'll try that. The reason is basically I agreed to sort someone's PC out (for a price) and am now in the final stages.

I'm running out of time and I've managed to get my laptop so clogged up with utter crap during the course of it that I want to just wipe it all (saved my important files) and finish the job with a nice clean laptop! It isn't wuite as urgent as I made it sound, but I'd like to do it today.

Restore points are terrible! I was excited when I first found them, but they cause more problems than they solve. Plus my first restore point was deleted anyway.

My laptop is actually SO BAD now that no amount of virus scanning/ad removing/unbused file cleaning makes a difference. When our major PC had a virus and had to be wiped, something got onto mine and it hasn't been the same since.

And having just check, I AM in business! I've found I386. What do I do with it, just burn it to a CD? How exactly do I go about formatting my drive/reinstalling Windows? Any tips before I seek help in a more specialised place?

Thanks all!
