Help! / Re: Zenith Reprints?

(replying to Byron's stray post)

Maybe a little harsh, but not much. Nobody is disputing that he owns them, created them etc. All he's doing now is preventing fans reading it. That doesn't seem at all fair. He was paid. He should get over it. It isn't like he's had it stolen from him...

I think that on paper Rebellion are in their rights, but Morrison's argument is enough to stop them or at least cost them a lot of money.

Basically, he's being a prick.

You have to send a gif image to the webmaster. Instructions are under 'Help' at the top of the page. If you ask someone round here (like Cybermax) they'll probably make you one!

Um, not really. You shouldn't have much trouble buying one for around a grand that'll deal with most of the upcoming games. My girlfriend just got a new PC for ?1400 (but that included monitor etc) and it's fully capable.

Nah it isn't! The bit where they fiddle with the footage on the video of a schoolgirl shaking her head and it goes mental - THAT'S the standout moment.

The Ring 2 has very little to do with Ring 2. Naiomi Watts boy starts having Samara esque powers, and she's accused of child abuse etc. Similar, but as they used up a lot of the Ring 0 and 2 stuff in The Ring (making it far too long for what it was, and removing a lot of the mystery) they've had to invent a new plot.

Ring - Japanese version -the son watching the video, falling in the well, thinking its the end when they recover the body, her coming out of the TV after they recover the body..... Scary as feck

I just rebought this, and totally concur. I'd not seen it for almost six months and it was as vivid and fantastically made as I remember. Utter, utter genius. Sound, visuals, script... all of it comes together perfectly. The subtle touches like how they speed up and slow down Sadako as she gets to her feet to make her less human is genius.

The US version I DESPISE because it's very inferior, had a terrible bit with 'Sumara' saying how she likes to kill people, and created a generation of people who saw the Japanese one second and found it 'shit'. I can't stand it!!!! Oddly though, Hidoe Nakata who directed the Japanese Ring is doing the American sequel....

Anyway, the moment when she comes out of the TV and your heart sinks, and all you can think is 'Oh.... shit.'

Also Thunderbird Two. Just look at it!

I don't see any real similarities between Cabs and anything else. It's totally it's own strip.

Having said that, I'm getting more and more frustrated with the incresing number of things that have bizarre mystical happenings and when pressed for an explanation say 'Oh, the Nazis di it. Naughties'

Bek and KAwl was excellent fun! Quite a few people seem to have been put off by the ensemble of recognisable characters. As I saw that, I knew people wouldn't like it! Well re-read it. They don't appear again after that.

Dredd.... Not much good to say about it I'm afraid. Dredd's quite boring, the story feels a little lacklustre and I'm struggling to stay interested. Not normal for a Wagner tale!!

No funting Droid Life. Psh. No letters either?? What the heee?

ABC Warriors.... Loving it. Really, really good stuff. I've always said that I'm not anti-Mills (despite being accused of it whenever I criticise him) and this should rove it. I've not read ABCs before this, but I've really been drawn in. Unlike Savage, the lines all seem to work for me. Very few (if any) clunkers, which is more than I can say for Dredd right now!

Stronty is a different kettle of fish. I'm not 'just glad to have them back' and this story isn't doing much for me so far. I've enjoyed it, sure, but it doesn't feel like it's going anywhere. I'll wait and see with it.

the end of 'Needful Things' (the novel, not sure if a film came out) was outright jism. It's not a great story anyway (as opposed to The Shining), but at the end it suddenly goes all Disney Haunted Mansion, with silly ghosts in the sky and stuff. It's not good.

I quite liked it! Everything that's been set up suddenly goes to shit, then the demonic guy f*cks off. Finished the Castle Rock stories quite well. By destroying the town utterly. Kewl!
