Off Topic / Re: I am the MASTER OF PHILOSOPHY.

Well, the real two reasons Godpleton has done an MA in Philosophy are
1) So he can justify being naked on Sundays out side his own home to the authorities

2) So he can literally get away with murder and therefore justify him being on the bored

Well done on your MA. are you goung the whole hog and looking to be a Prof?

Yeah but you are talking about a time and place where the latest public crazes have the lower end kind of tech I am talking about so the easiest option would be a morphing bullet and micro computers by the 2070's are pretty much as standard.

look at it this way my phone has more processing power and memory then the entire nasa moon programme. so logically by the late 21st cent they would be easily be able to fit a better computer system then the very best current smart missile in to something the size of a bullet and the "wonder" materials that they make stuff from in MC1 that is available just for public use could do the job i am suggesting.  so what would have been available to the Justice dept would be more then capable of doing what I have suggested. Also a lot of stuff Justice dept developed for their street Judge was pretty far ahead of the rest of the world tech wise any way. many story's have show that MC1 had a massive edge over the rest of the world till the early 2100's. I just think having a system that moves bullets around would be more problematic TBH and who knows what you can archive with memory forms and such in the next 60 or so years.

Quote from: "Spartan375"Very nice specs Tweak72 !

I believe that your Lawgiver specs, was closer to Comic and the movie versions too.

By the way, i never understand how the Lawgiver works in game.
It reminds me the Deus Ex Invisible War weapons, with "materials" and nanites in every clip, that can turn "materials" into bullets, missiles, darts, rockets ect...

Well, to be honest, i don't know if any attempt to make a real Lawgiver it will actually work. All this type of bullets is a completely mess and a big problem for weapons mechanics.
But with plasteel and "variable memory" it seems possible, but we haven't those materials... :|

the game worked on the idea that a mag would hold x amount of GP rounds but less if other ammo types where used (e.g. say 4 GP round combined to make 1 Hi Ex round) but the GP rounds where like using a pea shooter so I always used AP as my GP

I always thought the one thing the Dredd film and game got right was that one bullet did all 6 jobs.
I always thought that by the 2070's the tech would be there to do the following.
My own lawgiver specs
The Lawgiver round has a "variable memory" chemical propellant and plasteel (the 21st century "wonder" material) "variable memory" form casing and also has an on board micro computer to manage the "variable" nature of the charge and casing and instructs the Lawgiver when it is "set". It onboard system would manage the rounds behaviour as it has an onboard sensor system.  This system would also communicate with the Lawgiver on board micro computer and Helmet micro computer systems.

The Lawgiver on board micro computer system would instruct the round as to what setting to use, and manages the environment for the round systems to "remember" the appropriate form and composition of casing and charge (EM fields and the like). When the round is "set" and fired the lawgiver takes telemetry from the round after firing and where appropriate also relays information to the round from the Helmet systems.  It also manages the "identity" of the round by time and ID stamping of each round as the round it self may be lost or its systems destroyed beyond the ability to retrieve information. it would also manage the palm print data. and give targeting telemetry to the Judges helmet.

1. General Purpose or GP round would be as described in the Mk 1 Ian Gibson file (like a small missile) with the above "extras". the GP has a variable range of short mid and long. All with a high amount of accuracy.

2. Dodgem/Ricochet would be a GP round where the plaseel "variable memory" form casing instructed by the onboard micro computer "remembers" a more rubber/plastic consistency and the charge switches to "mid range" output but the charge cuts out after the first impact.

3. Armour Piercing or AP. The casing, instructed by the onboard micro computer "remembers" the appropriate AP tip shape and behaves like tempered steel giving the round a hard plasteel tip. the chemical charge ignites in such a way as to increase the velocity of the bullet. This would give the AP round a quick burn but limited long range accuracy even though the bullet can travel for great distances

4. Incendiary would be a GP round with a short to mid range. The chemical charge having been "set" to a phosphorus/napalm like quality. A minor explosive effect on impact to spreads the phosphorus/napalm for maximum delivery.

5. Hi Ex would be a GP round that has a shorter range as most of the propellant is used as a charge on impact. The round can travel further but to the cost of the explosive charge

6. Heat Seeker round instructed by the onboard micro computer acts like a small missile. the casing shapes it self "growing" fins. The "heat seeker" is a combination Passive homing and Semi-active homing and as such can home in to target it self using passive homing heat  sensors or also use the tracking systems in judge helmet and lawgiver to find a target in Semi-active homing mode. This would also give a limited "friend or foe" ability to the bullet which would stop the bullet finding the Judge who fired it as its target. The round can vary its own velocity to a degree as it may lock on to a target some considerable seconds after firing so may seem to travel slowly at first.

This would also mean that if you had say, 20 rounds in a clip you could fire 20 rounds at any of the 6 settings (unlike the game) so none of that "I have only got 1 Hi Ex round left"

Quote from: "Tweak72"You see I am still confused. I just looked at the web site for Xpo and I can't help but wonder how one could not think it was a seedy flea market for strap on's, boots and fairy wings.

Shit i never bothered i just saw an add in the Metro and thought it would be a laugh.

See, thats exactly how I ended up working for the large Transport providing company for London. i just saw an add in the Metro and thought it would be a laugh

You see I am still confused. I just looked at the web site for Xpo and I can't help but wonder how one could not think it was a seedy flea market for strap on's, boots and fairy wings. In fact the first place one would go if one was looking to find Gary Glitter lookalikes and old dudes in leather jackets leering at some rather large girls in basques.

And how does an arseless chap's cowboy not make the whole thing a bit seedy? Is that not the point perhaps?

On reflection I think the Edge just showing off that he was chatted up by a rather hot looking young women in a basque and high heels. strap on or not. (And with a £10 entrance fee I would have to be chatted up by a hot looking woman)

Joking aside, what did you buy there? come on you can tell us

Quote from: "Bolt-01"The board does not make folks stick to the same user-name, which is why I've used at least three over the years I've been here.

There is nothing sinister about that, unless you try to post a conversation with yourself as two users.

Which in it self is not sinister... Unless the conversation is about how both profiles can kill off the real world user and take over his/her life in the real world.

You can tell I have read Tooth for nearly three decades can't you?

So wait, are you coming out about your own 'alternative' lifestyle and complaining that the market was all that you thought it would be? Or are you being judgmental about those that have an 'alternative' lifestyle and labelling them all perverts?  (Which OK, is a fair if a tad harsh judgment) :?

I have no idea what to suggest HoU apart from teaching school kids. Probably not what you want to hear but its a wage and something you can do probably with ease. The whole key worker thing could be a real bonus. I have no real suggestions apart from that. But my fingers are crossed for you.

... And as of course, taking the piss out of dyslexic people seems to be an acceptable pass time. You then be welcomed by the boarders and will be ready to "impress" your new friends, who will encourage you to go up to people with cerebral palsy and shout "retards" at them at the top of your voice, tell the visually impaired that "they should bloody well look where they are going" and round the day off by punching pregnant women in the stomach.
