Yeah, my mate lives in Surrey and they've got that system, makes you wonder how they sort it all out again though. Wish we had that set-up as our rubbish bin is always chokka with cans and plastic bottles. In fact I have become a stickler for removing bottle tops just so they crush down better when I'm jumping up and down on the bin!

Round here the council have provided a blue bin to each household for cardboard and paper. You'd be amazed how many people you see conscientiously putting bin bags full of newspaper, etc in them. Makes you want to shout "But the bag's plastic- you tit!!"

Ratty, I'm usually reluctant to comment on threads like this as I haven't got an artistic bone in my body alas. Hence I normally leave the criticism to those who know what they're talking about! I would just like to say however that I really like that Carlos pic. Spotted it earlier and this is the third time I've nipped back for another look. Obviously it's a great pic to start with but you've made a great job of the colouring too. I would be happy to find this in my prog. Keep up the good work!

Rebel, I've got to hand it to you mate, you've just given me the biggest laugh tonight. Having done my fair share of site work I can indeed confirm your observations. Best ever on one of our jobs- old labourer, gagging for a shite, nowhere to go. So he sneaks into the back of the van and employs the time-honoured bucket 'n bag technique. However, in his haste, he has neglected to properly latch the van doors. So as he's sat on the pot, Benny hat on head, Park Drive in mouth, the doors slowly swing open. To the considerable dismay of the respectable OAP couple who are passing by at that very moment. Caught literally with his trousers down and in mid-thrust, what does our hero do? Farts, tips his hat and says, "Mornin"" that's what! Of course we didn't laugh and take the piss for the rest of the week.......much!

Yes, on reflection it's probably safer for all if they stick with the ponies. Imagine what havoc they could wreak in the real world!

Weeeeeird! The net never disappoints in its capacity for infinite strangeness. But they're still air-gun fodder really aren't they? :)

Ever played "Alone in the Dark (2?)" on the PS1? That was influenced by Lovecraft too. On the comics front, just tooth I'm afraid. Have always shied away from US comics as I assumed they'd be just superhero stuff, which I dislike. Any recommendations for non-superhero comics anyone? Bookwise- sci fi, some fantasy, war stories fact or fiction (Colditz is a cracking read), some Pratchett, some horror and other generally weirdy stuff. Oh, and BSH custom bike mag.

Way to go Jen. Why not have adult orientated cartoons shown at night? South Park seems pretty succesful and manga is big biz nowadays. ABC warriors, stront, nemesis, dredd, ACE trucking would all rock. But just imagine, my friends, how good would a cartoon DR & Quinch be? :) :) :)

Cheers Bou, much appreciated. Yes it's a bummer when you've got kids and hassle. You have to remember that your actions are being watched by your offspring so the old " load number 4 cartridge and charge electronux" option is a bit of a no-no. Frustrating when your instincts are telling you to kick-off to the max. Maybe I'm having a quiet mid-life crisis or need some HRT treatment or something :) Anyway all, sorry to moan on- normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.

Heh, heh. My greatest fear is that my step-daughter comes home with a pimp :)
On a more serious note, apologies for any feathers ruffled. Not wishing to moan about personal stuff on the board I will try to be brief. A couple of months ago my 13 yr old stepson witnessed a young girl being assaulted and robbed. He is due to testify in court in a few weeks time. In the last few months he has been regularly chased, threatened and abused by local yobbos. The last time, a couple of days ago, he was actually chased across our property into a neighbours house by a 19 yr old jailbird fresh out of nick and happy to join in the fun. Other highlights have included my 15 yr old stepdaughter recieving sexually abusive phone-calls and comments shouted at her in the street. Oh, and having to park my car 2 miles away to stop it getting trashed is a bit of a bummer too. Just a small selection from the total sum of harrasment my family has endured lately. You may therefore understand why my patience with burberry-capped, pikey, scumbags is at a bit of a low at the moment. Of course I don't believe anyone should have the right to shoot/torture someone in cold blood. But I can tell you all that it's difficult to worry about the rights of criminals when you're on the recieving end of their actions.
Yours stressedly Jim.

In reply to your somewhat heated post GC, I would like to point out that I never said I agreed with what Tony Martin may have done personally . What I actually said was I agreed with what the BNP refered to as the "Tony Martin Law". In other words, if some thief/rapist/murderer,etc breaks into someones house and gets hurt in the process then that's tough shit IMO. As for reasonable force, let's get real. If you confronted an intruder in your house and he had a screwdriver or crowbar in his hand what would you do- ask him nicely to wait while you found an equivalent weapon? No, like everyone else you'd use the shotgun/axe/baseball-bat that you already had in your hand. The householder doesn't get to choose whether they get burgled or not. The burglar is free to choose whether he puts himself in harms way or not. To sum up, if someone breaks into my house while my kids are in bed then they ARE going to get hurt. At the very least a good kicking will serve as a better deterrent than the likely slap on the wrist our pathetic (in)justice system will impose. At the end of the day, the best way to be a victim is to act like one.
Regards Jim.

Mmm, toughie this one. Is there such a thing as a socialist/responsible-capitalist? That would probably describe me I reckon, ie. I think people should be free to pursue their own personal and financial goals but that they should also be morally bound to give a leg-up to others who may be struggling. Does that make sense? I hated Maggie and her championing of the "fuck-you jack I'm alright" mentality. On the other hand I think communism is a non-starter, stifle peoples personal aspirations and you end up with a third-rate society and technology. To grab the bull by the horns, I'd also add that I welcome immigrants who                              want to join-in and enrichen UK society but have no time for those who wish to live here whilst ignoring/despising british laws and customs. (If I was emigrating I would expect to play by the rules of my host country after all). Oh, and I agree with the BNP (Shock, horror!), in respect of their "Tony Martin law". Burglars indeed have no fucking rights in my book.
Yours,politically confused,Jim.
