Bou, I understand your obsession. I think it must be a genetic thing. As a youth I furnished whole houses from skips out of necessity, nowadays I'll still spend ages converting some chunk of shite to do a job even when I've got the dosh to just buy the right fecking bit anyway! I've currently got about 4 tonnes of stone and timber stacked outside , scrounged from work 'cos it will "come in handy one day". Plants in the garden grow in stainless steel washing machine drums for that trendy industrial look :) Parts on my bike are still made from ally offcuts hoarded from when I used to work at a metal fabricators. I've got to admire your dedication though, taking a can-opener to a copper cylinder is certainly no mean feat of alternative engineering! Bizarrely we're actually PC nowadays though- saving the planet and all that!
 Yours Steptoeishly Jim
PS  What the feck is a raku kiln!?

Just to add though, do bear in mind when grinding or machine polishing copper- it's a bloody good conducter of heat, I know this from bitter experience!

Bou, if you can get to a scrapyard or know a friendly plumber, old hot water cylinders cut - up to make masses of thin copper sheet. Cheaper than buying from a stockholder if you don't mind doing the cutting and polishing yourself.
 Regards Jim.

Well I stand corrected. Obviously all the stereotypes of editors being permanently on the lash whilst the other ranks do all the work are true. Either that or they've got a sense of humour previously unguessed at!

You've gotta be shitting us! No-one could sneak those bell-end headed monsters past the editor. You're on the wind aren't you Trouty?

Glad to hear the tribute reached you intact, your aquatic highness. No mean feat considering my usual luck with the orc-minions of the postal service. I'm sure I've heard somewhere, by the by, that Mr Monkhouse has a huge collection of old comics/artwork as well as being a dab hand with the inks himself.  Coincidentally,my much anticipated copy of Complete halo jones dropped through the letterbox on saturday ( cheers Wake! ) which went some way to alleviating my own board DT's.
Regards Jim.

See you later mate. Sorry to hear you,re leaving. Will you be limping off into the outback - clad in tattered black leather with only a dingo and a sawn-off shotgun for company?:)
 Best wishes Jim.

That kicks ass Max baby! Like the Dredd/mantis one too.I've got that mantis kit too, somewhat bizzarely Mrs Uzi won it in a raffle at our local nursery still unmade in it's box. Will get round to making it one day, though I didn't realise it was already that bloody old!
Regards Jim.

Mostly same as Duds. Also wandered around the rest of the site wondering what things like IRC and URL meant. Wondered why RAMming squirrels had knackered the board. Kept looking at the temp chat room, just as everyone had left the conversation.Tried to remember what I did before I found the board-- and failed! Drank even more than usual. Was a grumpier bastard than usual. Looked at other (shite) websites. Tried to understand e-bay. Watched Matrix reloaded for the first time. Thought about getting a life, decided I couldn't be arsed.

How about a celebrity deathmatch between Beadle and Matthew Kelly? It could be held on the thames fort with melee weapons strategically hidden on every floor. Now that's my idea of reality TV !  Any ideas who the winner could face for the next round though?
