Classifieds / Strontium Dog books on Ebay
06 September, 2008, 05:03:55 PM
I've been bought the Strontium Dog books and I've already got them.

Anyone care to bid on them? I'll throw in freebies if someone on the site wins...

If they're gonna publish a story about priests, I'd quite like to see John Smith & Dom Reardon adapt The Exorcist.

Any other takers?

'Read' this last night. Seemed to be a bunch of interconnected images without narrative. I'm sure it does make sense, but you don't buy 2000AD to think 'what the hell is going on here?'. Maybe these have now run their course?

After reading I got really frustrated with it and went to bed. Not good.

General / Collecting research on Rogue Trooper
10 August, 2008, 12:39:49 AM
Hi Guys. I'm putting together a paper on war comics, with a specific focus on the Rogue Trooper strips and I was wondering if anyone would mind giving a few moments of their time to tell me their opinions on the strip, in an informal manner. I'm looking for discussion around the following areas:

    * If you read RT when it was first published, what did you like/dislike about it?
    * If you reread it in trade form recently, how did it hold up to your memories of it?
    * If you recently read the old stories for the first time, did they live up to expectations?
    * What were your thoughts on Friday/Tor Cyan/Gordon Rennie's run on the strip, and what did they add to the Rogue Trooper Canon?
    * Any thoughts on the RT video game.
    * Is there still a place for the strip in 2000AD?
    * What makes a good RT story?

Any discussion would be brilliant. If you'd like to email me, I can be reached at mailto:mechanix_81@yahoo.com">mechanix_81@yahoo.com. A paragraph of stuff would be invaluable.

Thanks in advance. Martin.

Anyone interested? I'm gonna Ebay it if not...

(By the way, if you wanted to trade, I'm after some more games for my Wii...)

God, the shame of actively going to asda to check if they've got specific undies in. Some people feel shame buying comics. Me? Underwear.

So who is G. Powell then? How long before an extra from Stickleback or such makes an entry?

Perhaps, post-Malone we're all a bit more cynical about this sort of mystery?

Anyone who was around for the Dead Man incident - were you then looking for the next experiment of that type?

Hey Rob. So what's the one thing you'd change about your 2000AD work thusfar?

(personally I'd like to see more of it. oh yes.)

Ignatz - I'll get back to you on postage rates.

peterwolf - sold. mail me and we'll sort something out.

Indigo - I got your message. Sorry about lack of reply. I've only got a couple of the issues you're after. Where are you based?

Really, just make me an offer. postage would probably be about 2.50, so how about a fiver all in?
