QuoteAnyone have a rough idea of what actually that means these days, in terms of content?  I've no problem with faithful-to-the-source-material boobies

Went to see this today. Nothing in there a kid can't see. It's all CGI action with a bit of blue alien blood being flicked across the screen. No boobies I'm afraid - although she is a rather attractive filly.
It's entertaining - if instantly forgettable - fare

QuoteI haven't actually seen the original. Worth getting?

It's an 80s cheese-fest but it does have Roddy McDowell in it. I like it! If you can find it cheap it's worth a punt

Prog / Re: Prog 1773 Fathers Day?

Cover very dynamic until you look at Dante's face which looks too cartoony
Dredd a slow burner, but Wagner is pulling it off.  I'm liking the art on this.
Age of the Wolf I didn't really enjoy the first story but was left with the impression that it would read better as a collection. My opinion with book two hasn't changed.
Grey Area great premise for a strip and I've loved the stories so far, but oh the art... far too stilted for my tastes - I'm just not a fan of Lee's work.
What if always nice to see more Robin Smith in the prog but none of the What If's have done it for me I'm afraid
Dante saving the best til last - brilliant. Just brilliant. Perfect art to go with a perfect script. I'll be so sorry to see this finish but conversely can't wait for the trade. Where do they go next with it?

Drac beat me to it. I've only watched the first 10 mins so far but it seems a whole lot better than Frank Miller's version

Yay! Jim's back! And he only swore once :D

For the record; this interview is very interesting and a good listen but I have to say, I only started reading Tooth regularly again (after years in the wilderness) during Bishop's reign in the Tharg mask. The stuff that went on in the preceding years just didn't float my boat at all.

Let's just be thankful for what we have now, which, for the most part, is an excellent era

Classifieds / Clearing the decks...

by putting a few things on ebay;

Anyone fancy a copy of the latest Comic Heroes without paying the silly cover price? Vworp Vworp magazine with the Weetabix-like board game? A handful of Little Shoppe of Horrors?

More to come!

Westworld.

An oldie but a goodie. Michael Chrichton's precursor to Jurassic Park with the iconic Yul Brynner as the Gunslinger still stands up today - great stuff

QuoteI used to really like the Red Hand Gang , the Machine Gunners , Stig of the Dump ( original one ) , and Phoenix and the Carpet ( again , the original one )
"Where we going now?"
My wife went to school with that lad; and the whole school had his life for the rest of his time there, shouting that at him. Kids are cruel (Although when I saw him on my bus yesterday morning I was very tempted to shout it at him :D Forty-somethings are also cruel)

Aw man, I love his work. His concept work on the Star Wars movies and Battlestar Galactica was just beautiful.
Has anyone found what he died of? It's just a remember seeing an interview in recent years where his hands trembled violently and wondered if it was Parkinsons or something like it

Must get me finger out and do something for this - I've missed the last couple :-\

Ultimate comic strip? I'll get back to you

My favourite comic strip is easy... The Spire The Stars by Steve Moore and John Ridgway from an issue of Warrior. Go and check it out if you haven't read it. (And if you haven't, hang your head in shame - every comic nerd should have the full collection of Warrior)
