Quotewild-fire flu outbreak

They usually use that plot line to get rid of a few of the older characters at this time of year - except for some old geezer from the North pole who always seems to turn up about now

I'm sure Marvel are rubbing their hands in glee at that and thinking 'That's one down! Now if we can just get rid rid of Alan Moore, Gary Leach, Alan Davis, John Totleben and the rest we can reprint it and make a fortune!'

The world needs another regular anthology!

This really is a great read - granted, not everything is to my taste but that's the nature of the beast, isn't it?

Highlights for me were Hookjaw (great restoration work by the team Caldwell and Campbell), the Iron Moon prequel and art by PJ Holden and John Ridgway.

Hunt this down - it is so much better than Clint

I'm surprised you couldn't translate them yourself Locust - surely the first words you learn of a new language are the swear ones?!

I must admit to enjoying Angel Zero. And the latest PJ Maybe plot.

Ampney seems rather slight as episodes go - lot of action but not much to read, you know?

Highlight this week (as it has been for the last month or so) is Dirty Frank's escapades - beautiful art and a great story.

And I've given up on Prime - I have no clue what it's about and can't be bothered to continue with it. Lovely art though.

Enjoying four out of five in an anthology is pretty good going though

My dad kept all his Eagles from when he was a kid in the 50's and used to read them to me as bedtime stories when I a nipper - I mean how can a kid not love Dan Dare?!!
He also used to buy me any comic that took my (or his) fancy and he used to read it after me, so I grew up in the 70s reading 2000AD, Victor, Battle, Tiger, Roy of the Rovers and later, new Eagle.
Then I took over buying my own and moved to Warrior.
It's only when I realised the serials from there were being continued in US comics that I started buying them and the love affair with the medium has continued since the late 80s
