Yeah you beat me too it Jim.
The day we start to see reprints in the pages is the day we need to start panicking (and that's the day we all volunteer to write and draw the thing for them!)

Well I've just bought one, so there's one sale at least!

I'll let you know what I think once I've ploughed through it

Cheers!

Film & TV / Re: Dr Who - On The Slide Again?

Ah it's not really a slide. 6m is still a big figure for tv these days; it's not as if it's in danger of being cancelled.
Just keep buying the sticker albums and annuals and I'm sure the BBC will keep producing the show

QuoteThe readership may be falling but it's also maturing (not in an emotional sense) so the average disposable income per scrot has risen from around 10p to £££££££'s.

When I was a kid I didn't have a mortgage, bills or a wife to pay for, so my disposable income still works out at about 10p!
Although back then I didn't have a credit card to buy all the GNs and case files, so I guess it worked out after all   ;)

Part eight, and the story takes a darker turn...

I grew up reading old Eagles and Look and Learn, so my early favourites were Don Lawrence's work on The Trigan Empire, Frank Hampson and Frank Bellamy.

If I had a smidge of their talent I'd be a very happy bunny indeed.

How about

The Only Way is Up by Yazz and the Plastic Population, or
Love Shack by The B52's

from around the same time as Betty Boo and Dee-lite, and sure to get your foot tapping

I've sent copies of PARAGON #5 off today, so expect to see it on the shelves of Forbidden Planet Manchester, Worlds Apart in Liverpool and Nostalgia & Comics in Birmingham very soon!

Go on, go and have a browse and see what else is there!

Off on a tangent with this one, but I was just thinking...

Why do we have bolded words in comics? Emphasis? Sure.
But it seems to be very other word in some US comics which surely just negates the effect? (And no, I have no examples to hand to quote at you!)
You'd think I'd know the answer having drawn and published my own comics for years, but no, I haven't a clue!

Thought bubbles and fart gags last time out. Two things you don't see much of in 2000AD!

What's next? A bedroom scene?

I had a panic attack yesterday morning.

I thought the wife had said the remote was dead.

(Well he started it!  :-X)
