A Fistful of Dollars is a remake of Yojimbo.

Then again, so was Last Man Standing.

... - worth watching?

No. It's shite.

And for the record, I hate most remakes. Apart from Battle Beyond The Stars, obviously.

Very funny with a dark twist. Watch it on catch up, but don't miss it!

Creative Common / Re: New comic - contributors wanted!
05 February, 2014, 08:27:04 PM
So I've been listening to a show on Radio 4 about Amicus and Hammer films
http://bbc.in/1dBM1nb
and it's inspired me to resurrect this thread.

I have nearly all of Hammer's output on dvd but none of the Amicus portmanteau horrors.

Any creatives fancy contributing to a new issue, trying to recreate the Amicus vibe?

I'll be looking for short horror tales (5 pages or so) and artists to draw them up.

PM or email me with story ideas/pitches/scripts and artwork if you are interested
(email daveycandlish[at]tiscali[dot]co[dot]uk)

If you read the first issue, you'll know it was brilliant.
If you didn't, you can download it for FREE here

How about asking all of issue 1's artists to do a sketch? (those that are still capable of holding a pencil)

Sad to see Sir Chris Chataway has died aged 82 - he was a kinda hero of mine. Probably best known as one of Roger Banister's pacemakers when he broke the four minute mile but you should google him to see what else he did in his life - his athletics career was only 5 years long - and tell me that's not an interesting fellow.

Anybody else watching this? The theme tune isn't as good as the 70s Brit version but as a whole, it is very slick and glossy. It's not subtle - you can tell who the bad guys are because they all wear dark suits, and the lead actor is meant to be a schoolkid but he must be a bit of a thicky to have been kept back that many years! Have I got space in my life for two slick US shows? I think Agents of SHIELD is a more fun programme - I'll have to see how it goes.
