Not directly related to this interview but a point I've raised before. I'm always simply amazed that Norm Breyfogle seems to be almost entirely sidelined from American comics.

I daresay it's because of his association with Alan. DC's loss is Archie's gain.

Does he? Reading back his earlier comments, my reading of it is that something is going to happen pretty soon - however with Wagner's slow burn storytelling pace it may well be a decade in any case!

& intentional or not, Oldham doesn't half read as a scathing critique of other writers' inability to understand Dredd. I can't help but be reminded of this advice given to a young Giant, "That's what makes us different from creeps like this -- creeps who enjoy it."

Sure I think it'd be cool for the fans for them to meet and interact with established characters but a fresh character could be just as good, if not better for the reasons you mention, as the focal point.

Aren't cover dates when they should be taken off the shelves, not put on... or are things different these days?

Stevie's understanding is that's an American practice. Whilst cover dates in the UK 7 his native Auxtralia reflect the on sale date.

Speaking of new progs, Grant -- Diamond curiously shipped Prog 2010 to Auxtralia today. I do say curiously as I haven't seen any of the preceding December progs as yet.

Oh & there was Meg 292 & the latest Dan Dare hardcover too.
