To my horror I've just remembered as a nipper writing to Jim'll Fix It asking to meet the bloke who did the special effects for Doctor Who...

Still nice to see a Pope that can actually walk and talk again...

(Or as someone I know commented... "All that poor bastard can look forward to is being shoved out on a balcany when he's on his death bed."

I seem to remember Empire (and Total Film) being quite good magazines... but that was some time ago. Now they get flick through in Smiths if that.

If only we could something as good as 'Vox' again

The worse for An 'Film he appeared in' Actor was this free mag in a cinema I used to go, that was just reprinted press releases. Hilariously bad I always use to pick one up just to laugh at it in the five mins between finding seat and half-hour of ads starting.

Well 'rarely' not never... I've not managed to summon the will power to watch comic-boy Elvis nut as Capt 'Mama Mia!' Corelli. The few brief clips I've seen are bad enough...

Make a strawberry jam sandwich... with the best quality ingrediants you can get hold of. Then lightly fry it on both sides in unsalted butter.. then pore a load of double cream over it. Heaven.

How about this big beautiful bastard:

The Elvis

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Eating Time: As fast as possible
Time to Death from Coronary: Very Soon.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons butter, softened
8 slices white bread
1/2 cup smooth peanut butter
1 large, ripe banana, sliced
1/4 cup honey
12 slices bacon, Sauteed until crispy

Preparation:

Spread the butter on 1 side of each slice of bread. On the other side of half of the slices spread peanut butter. Place banana slices on top of peanut butter. Drizzle honey over bananas. Place 3 bacon slices on top of the banana, then place the remaining buttered bread slices on top, butter-side-out.

Place sandwiches on a preheated grill pan or griddle. Flip them over when they become golden brown and crispy. When the sandwiches are browned on both sides, remove to plates. Slice in half and serve immediately. Wait on toilet until death.

There's no need to leap to defence... I think LMS is currently suffering from some sort of religious mania brought on by the new Pope being elected so I'm ignoring what he says (well ignoring even more than usual)... ;-)
