yeah I noticed his lack of appearence in the 'official record'

Reading between the lines (and what Christopher Lee has said), and due to the hudge nature of the project I get the feeling that Jackson would not/could not tolerate any 'what's my motivation?', 'why do you want me to do this?', twatish behaviour and general fannying around on set and it was 'we are all in this together, get on with it'

Though it's a bit odd that they got all the way through pre-production, rehearsels etc before they realised they coudl nto work with him

I've got Spaced, Hitch-hickers and The Stone Tape plus some freebie Joe90s I'd forgotten about. I also gained Tomorrow People via shedcon that I've still not watched yet but hope to before the next one!

I'd love to see Survivors (all of it) on DVD

That smoke cloud looked like dodgey CG to me...

And whatever happened to the parachuting plane-blowing up assassin women... after her girlfriend was killed she just walked out of the plot. Bring her back!

Green Mile! Sentimental old bollox more like... I cannot have been the only one laughing when 'I'm in heaven' got fried...

Which is odd considering how good the director's adapation of a Stephen King about a prison set in the past was

Yeah that's what I was wondering... icicles fall from planes all the time.

I can't think how they could be a natural ... to get to any reasonble size they would have to be refrozen several times (like hailstones) and end up round

Avoid yellow ones!

I unfortunatly went to rubbish dentist in my childhood (stinking bad breath, pain during and after) and an even worse one in my teens (over a few weeks several fillings just fell out and several teeth spit in half.

Finally it was the University Dental service in particular a prof of Dentistry who sorted me out.

And luckily I've now found a good dentist.

But you think this is bad I knew someone at university who had not been to a dentist in ten years. In the end his girlfriend, fed up with the stinking breath his rotten mouth produced forced him to go. A final year dental student's whole final year project was treating him.

Well I was once phobic about dentists and did not got for several years... Then I managed to have impacted wisdom teeth. A month of blinding agony was followed by having 6 teeth out under a general anesthetic.

Extreme trauma, that's how to cure a phobia! Nothing (inc crown and root canal work) ever seemed too bad after that.

I used to think Arkansas was pronounced Ar-Kansas but I was 6... also at the age of 7 or so reading the Star Wars novelisation before seeing the fim I had a very strange idea of how Obi-Wan Kenobi was pronounced.. Ob Wan Ker nob or something similar

And how come the pronunciation of Tatoonie has changed during the films themselves!
