Yes, Recrewt - the bailiff himself seemed flummoxed. He started to say at one point "but I've served hun...(dreds of these things?)" but trailed off. Could it be that he'd never considered the validity of the warrants he's been happily serving for God knows how long? Could he possibly have failed to notice the difference between a signed one and an unsigned one? He genuinely didn't seem to know what to do and even admitted that he saw my point.
.
I mean, if I didn't have a point, why did they all go away?

You've fended them for now and forced a Council robot to it question it's programming. Nice start TLS.

It's been a while...

Well he did have an unfortunate teeth/ground bicycle-related mishap recently so I wasn't expecting any a good while...

When Metal Gear Solid was all the rage years ago (15?), I saw a mention of a Metal Gear Solid code name generator in the Official Playstation Magazine. Ancient Otter is what I got when I entered my real name in.

I picked an really late issue of that as well and that's how I got hooked too.

The last volumes (30 to 37) of Gantz. On of my single favourite ongoing manga series of recent years.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gantz-Volume-30-Hiroya-Oku/dp/1616551518/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1390938869&sr=8-1-fkmr1&keywords=Gantz+volume+37

I had no idea Gantz was finishing with 37,
it just doesn't feel to me like it's going to have a proper explanation of what is going on.
Quote from: CrazyFoxMachine on 26 January, 2014, 01:37:59 AMThis is the  best thing I have ever heard. Me and milady have been calling everything Michael Johnson since this evening and I have a strong confidene that from now on every inanimate object will be christened thus.

Michael Johnson can be the new Rolo Tomassi.

Hi, I'm afraid deadlines have conspired to stop me getting to cork (deadlines and the fact I start Jury Service on the Monday...)

Do you count as self-employed? I know in the Republic self-employed people are exempt from jury duty.....

It's the east coast of somewhere, certainly: Dublin/Kildare border at the moment, although presently it's the mattock and the Big Yellow Trowel I'm mainly wielding: glorious stuff turning up though, kicking myself that I'm only subbing, I'd love to have the whole project and really go to town.  After so long out of the field game I'm a wreck in the evenings - feeling my age.  And on that note, two former colleagues gave themselves nasty hernias on industrial sites, so beware.  Tanneries are my least favourite variety of industrial, nearly killed myself bringing an intact oak tanning vat to the museum once, but I'm very partial to watermills - love working out the sluice mechanisms and surveying the channels and all that.

And thanks for the warm words, all.

You hear Irish Water are looking for Archaeology consultants? Ka-ching!

Over at Comicbook Resources Gath Ennis gave an interview promoting the new Battlefields collection and at the end:

Quote"[I've got the] Third and last series of 'Dicks,' new sci-fi miniseries called 'Caliban,' new 'War Story' series alongside reprints of the old Vertigo ones -- all from Avatar," he said. "[Also, a] Second series of 'Red Team' from Dynamite. Looking further ahead I've just finished 2015's 'Crossed' story, and there's a new horror project I can't really talk about yet."

Was cycling home last night from the gym and was clipped by a speeding car. I landed on my feet but I cracked my mouth on my handle bars, breaking the crown of my two top incisors and one of my lower ones. As im a student i'll be paying less for the treatment but it's still gonna cost a pretty penny. No comics for me for a month.  :|

And yes, it hurts like a bitch. Got a feeling the speeder was Jonathan Ross after he saw my comment in the other thread.

How're the teeth today Hawkmonger?

Next up on the list of things to read is the book Vultures Picnic by Greg Palast.

Should be fun.

Please let us know about that, I was thinking of picking it up. I know Warren Ellis name dropped Greg Palast a few times, maybe as a influence on Spider Jerusalem as well?
