I used to work for a charity and when their chuggers would stop me in the street my usual response would be "I work for them, but I wouldn't be a member" which really was how I felt. It was just a job for me, whereas most of the people working for them were really into it. Bunch of trustafarians.

As for the chuggers, virtually all of them work for agencies and know very little about the organisations they are collecting for. It can be quite easy to catch them out.

In the past when I would talk to charity muggers all they would get from me is "do you really think I am going to give my bank details out on the street."

IIRC the idea behind the Digital Archives was they would be printed on demand - ie they would only exist if people ordered them.
So they were printed digitally? Up until now I thought they were some sort of CD archive, hence 'Digital Archive'. Not a good title. Why should the reader care what the print process is?

If I am following you correctly Surfer, the drone in the deeper thinking at bay helping focus on the slog? Alternative to the radio in the factory albeit someone in management's chosen a shiv channel. :)

Yup, green tea too. As for herbal, I can just about tolerate that on rare occasions.

Sigh ... My first Mac had 25GHz processor, 4Mb of RAM and a 40Mb HDD. These days you'd turn your nose up at that spec in a phone ...!
Was it an LC475? That's what I had. The pizza box shaped little thing served me well.

Russel Howard describes Loose Women as the Daily Mail on a period. Ha sorry had to double pop that on Surf.
I agree with that. I used to find my tolerance level for crap tv was much higher when I used to work in the living room with the tv on in the background. Now I work in a separate room I'm not interested in that tosh and I hardly watch any programmes.

Very interesting seeing your work process GQ. Reinforces that it's wise to get composition etc right before jumping in and drawing the details, as I do only too often. I get the impression that you're not really into inking, but I really like your embellishing style.

Loose Women. The programme that is. Well TBH I used to watch it but these days I can't really bear the 45 minutes solid of moaning.

... because I was at another meeting from Hell of the management group of our small block of flats. Just unbelievable. Constant spoiling tactics of those who wish to derail the refurbishment of the communal areas which are a complete embarrassing dump. Can't people understand that if a vote goes against them then tough! That doesn't mean they have automatic right of veto. Was like the Mad Hatter's Tea Party.

Never mind all that. Tottenham have just slaughtered Wigan 9 : 1. I'm a very happy man.

Likewise. Get this. I had a dream a few nights ago that Spurs lost 9-0. No lie. Weirdville.

Immigrants/EU citzens also use the benefits system in the UK. I thought i would point that out to you if you didnt know already.
Of course. I mentioned the Polish as it seems they have a very strong work ethic and they came here to work. I don't care who is here if they are pulling their weight.

I just get fed up of people on the dole moaning about immigrants being here, when many immigrants are here working.

Well done to all the winners and all who participated and Jim. Hah, again, my three votes were in the top three so I got my finger on the pulse. Look forward to the next one and the advent calendar.

Well done to the HMs as well. I hope Peter Wolf continues with his German Expressionist woodcut inking style.

While the UK economy was supposedly strong in recent years, why didn't so many 'indigenous' people fill the work vacancies and so reduce the need for so many immigrants to come into the UK to find work. No, better to have a life on benefits. Much easier.

Thanks to the Polish and other EU citizens (and other immigrants) working here, more taxes are paid, thus helping to finance the lifestyles of those 'indigenous' on the dole.

And as for refugees, asylum seekers etc, well, Britain made some good bucks selling weapons/equipment to many countries with dodgy human rights records and these weapons have ended up being used on civilian populations and what a surprise, the refugees end up here in the UK (and more so in other countries of course).

I will accept downgrading myself so that I don't get called the "missing link", as I have been called in the past.
