That would be great, Jim. An extension would do me fine. I don't want to do a V---- C------- and leave my drawing semi-inked.

Darn it. Haven't managed to finish. This is WIP 2. Tried to go for a tidier style as opposed to my usual scrawling. All done in Photoshop. The old bowl head is even harder to draw than the newer bucket head. Can't continue now as late enough.

Stunning, Ant.

Jim, are you going to be strict about closing time? You must be fed up of me asking, but any probs if I get my entry up after 12? I tried to finish last night but woke up on the sofa this morning at 6.15am which was a pain. (I guess that is what I get for taking a break to watch The Inbetweeners at 2.15am.)

This comp just gets better and better.
Thanks for letting us in on your techniques Ant and Gibson Quarter.
Still working on mine. Hopefully I can finish it in one more session.

Once again there's a very basic low tech solution to preventing the spread of these bugs etc: basic hygene.

ie don't sneeze or cough into someone's face, don't sneeze into bare hands and then carry on using a computer keyboard etc without washing hands.

Christ, I worked with some people who would do all that and I would get every bug going off them. The boss, who was a bit on the short side to say the least, would stand behind me looking at the computer screen and would cough right behind me. I'd feel the cough brushing the side of my face. Yuk. And as usual, a few days later I'd be illin'.

Some knockout entries (again). Interesting to hear how you produced your entry Ant. Do you find Painter much better than Photoshop for inking? I keep on meaning to printout my sketches and then ink them on paper. Laziness prevails though. I need to buy some decent inking pens. Not sure which though.

That's amazing Gibson Quarter. Nice and pulpy. Just how I like 'em.

Still busy with my entry. I might have to settle for bw.

Blimey, having Googled Vince Colletta it looks like we strayed across some sort of a war. I knew nothing of this. I'll be honest, he was never a fave of mine but I put that down to his style being one that just didn't do it for me. I didn't know that so many pencilers (or any in fact) had a gripe with him.

... our car packed in. We are to blame as we just didn't look after it. Didn't regularly check the oil or anything else for that matter. Would go weeks without using it. So long that the battery would keep going flat. Oil light flashed on, warning bleeps. Added oil. Car ground to a halt. Needed it as we are planning move very soon and were hoping to do a car boot sale.

Yeah Peterwolf, you can't win with flats. I know someone who needs to cough up £20K for renovations to his block! By order of the management group. And there is no arguing with that.

I mean getting professionals such as a surveyor to draw up a spec and make all the correct recommendations regarding regulations such as whether glass needs to be changed, fire alarms, lighting, regs regarding carpets etc. They all seem to know an expert who tells them what we need to do. Problem is, none of these experts are coming to the same conclusions. Or they get quotes but they can't be compared because they make odd requests such as asking the tiler to include in his price filling in the walls etc etc.

Quote from: "Wake"
Quote from: "Mikey"It'd be interesting definately. There was an art comp thread about this very subject IIRC before your time on board Brendan...
BARNEY has the results.
Er, do we have to mention that old comp, Wake? I got joint lowest mark. Not my proudest moment. Actually my lame effort was an idea I was carrying around when I heard there was going to be a DC Dredd comic way back. Still want to explore the idea further one day – what if Dredd was American? Well, he is American, and he was created partly by an American, but what if he was created in America?

... of management committees of flats.

Endless arguments. Never ending meetings and AGMs with people who it seems have never been in professional situations where they have to wait their turn to talk and stick to the point. No, they try to use it as an opportunity to rant for ever. Driving me nuts. Agreements made then ignored. Old ground constantly revisited. People not wanting to pay for professional work, offering to do tasks themselves then not doing them. Begrudging using professionals to organise renovation and thinking they can do it. And then making the crapiest recommendations for renovations using naff tosh from DIY stores. I chaired the last meeting and some commented I was firm but fair. I managed to keep a lid on things and prevent the arguments and people storming out, as is the usual scenario. Now the bickering continues by email. Oh, brother!

Happy day of birth, Jim. Mine is... tomorrow!

I'm well over 40 and a good few years into my mid-life crisis! But what the heck, most people guess that I'm in my early thirties, so I can't be doing too bad.

Have a good one.
