Very sorry to hear about your loss, Cyberleader2000. My thoughts are with you and your family.

I know there are proper apps for this kind of thing but a couple of days ago, after updating the operating system on my phone, I discovered that it's possible to doodle in Notes. So here is a quick finger drawing.

I'm pretty sure it's not quite "people are too stupefied by choice to enter" lol - I think perhaps we're just naturally winding down here. Perhaps we'll make it a bit less regular in 2018!
Perhaps this could be taken as cheek by this poster here who struggles to enter, but please let that not be the case. The art comps continues to be a highlight of this forum for me.

At forum gatherings, the subject of the art comp often comes up, as does the impressive standard of entries. I can tell you for a fact it is appreciated by many forumites.

I will make an extra hard effort to get my act together and enter whatever I have, even if it exists in scribbled form on the back of a receipt (which is often as far as I get).

What a brilliant page you got there, Spikes. Comic art collector gold.

I have an idea. But a question of time.

Sad to hear about Len Wein passing away. One of those creators who was a constant throughout my youth. Fond memories of the first appearance of Wolverine in the pages of Mighty World of Marvel.

One week on and just checking in to say the event seemed rather... flat. Can't put my finger on it. Might be to do with the feeling that it didn't seem that busy, or because creators were situated on different floors to the main area. Maybe it was the lack of familiar faces from the forum. Not quite sure.

I didn't buy much. A Case Files, the last issue of Rok of the Reds and Massacre for Boys.

I met up with a couple of guys from where I work. Both US comic fans. I noticed I had been given the 2000AD Free Comic Book Day prog which I offered to the work colleagues to try and convert them. No chance. They weren't interested. But on the plus side, on my recommendation, one of them did buy the Dredd Mars Attacks book.

Pleasure as always to meet up with the Southers in the evening.

Great failing, everyone. Don't keep it up.

No time to do roughs. Just got on with it...
:o Blimey! Good stuff there, surprised it wasn't entered as is!
Thanks, but as the clock struck twelve Dan Dare was black and white with one blue glove and one yellow arm. I carried on colouring after the deadline passed.

Richard Anderson, 91.
I didn't recognise the name until I clicked the link. Oscar Goldman. A legend.

Allow me:

A variation of the image that got me into 2000AD. The drawing of Dan Dare by Belardinelli that was used to advertise 2000AD in IPC comics.

No time to do roughs. Just got on with it. Unfinished and I would have worked on pose if I had more time, but had fun doing it.

I think we can put the boxer v. MMA fighter to rest now.
We can put to rest the argument that one of the greatest boxers in history (at 40) is better than one of the greatest MMA fighters: at boxing. Can't say I was surprised at the result. Well I was surprised, as I expected Mayweather to have won before the 10th round.

McGregor gave a pretty good account of himself.
