Not sure I want to repeat here what the print is.

Do I win this thread?

Tell us!
Ok then.

Black T-shirt with red silhouettes of women through the decades with a certain part of anatomy shaded black. Text reads "***** evolution In the Red Light District."

My wife said "What the hell are you supposed to do with that?!"

The only use I can think of is as a rag for cleaning paint brushes.

Fred Perry trainers/shoes
Carhartt jumper
Some dosh
John Lewis vouchers
Too many chocolates
Pair of socks
DVDs: Django Unchained, Inglorious Basterds and Hurt Locker. Looking forward to seeing these apart from Hurt Locker which I've seen so it will be replaced. In fact I bought it on DVD and it remains unwrapped as I watched it on TV months after I bought the DVD. I don't watch many films at all, especially on DVD. I very often run out of patience and switch off half way through. I usually only buy DVDs of films I haven't seen before.
Also got a Brian Cox collection which will either go to a charity shop or I might get round to starting to flog stuff on eBay.
Also destined for charity/eBay is a 100 Hits Rock Classics CD collection: Gary Moore, Marillion, Tina Turner, Suzi Quatro... I think last year I was given the very same collection by the same person.
Bottle of sparkly vino which will probably be added to the stockpile as we very rarely drink booze at home (shock horror).
We had a no presents pact with my siblings but one person went against the plan.

Oh, and see the relevant thread for my crap present.

I was given an Amsterdam red light district T-shirt. No idea what the heck I should do with it. I can't exactly take it to a charity shop or wear it while doing DIY. Myself and three other guys were given similar T-shirts in varying degrees of rudeness by an acquaintance. This is the second time he has given us such gifts. Last time I refused but this time it was wrapped. I think it was a joke but TBH I am not entirely sure. Not sure I want to repeat here what the print is.

Hi folks. I'm reporting back for forum duty. All sorts of stuff has been going on.

We moved into our own house and I just got a long work contract (almost a year).

We are living out of boxes but who cares. I've been off the scale busy as once we moved I had to immediately prepare for a work interview. I haven't had access to my computer as I left it where we were living before, which is where I am posting from now. I should have internet access tomorrow, alas without computer.

No pain no gain. It was a pretty rough last few weeks but got there in the end.

A no-prize to whoever names all the well-known and lesser-known structures.

Merry Xmas, all.

I'll be along later in the evening with mine, chaps, as I am moving this week so trying to get tons of packing done today. Catch you later.

Superb Gunderson, Darren.

Think I'll give the cake a miss though, but much appreciated.

Right, who's next?

Books & Comics / Re: Death Sentence sells out

Was too busy to get to a comic shop for weeks and missed out on this. Hopefully there will be a collected version.

Great Xmassssssss watercolour Hawkmonger.

That is pure genius, Mike. What a thrill powered Christmas that would've been. All of that would've sat very comfortably next to my Evel Knievel and Action Man toys.

Thanks for making 6 December a better advent calendar day than it would've been.

And to think I call myself a comic fan. Other than Zombo I've only heard of Pheonix in that list.

Then again in the last years I think I've been slowly coming to the realisation that I am actually a 2000AD fan rather than a comic fan. Nothing else seems to interest me much these days.

Must say my blood started boiling when I read your posts, Link.

Do the owners get involved in instructing the management company or are they completely left to their own devices?

Do you have contact with other disgruntled owners? You could form a committee and as a group you would have more muscle in dealing with the management company – and put pressure on them to do their job properly. It is their job to collect fees. If owners do not pay then surely the management company should take legal action against them.

You and other like minded owners could possibly oust the management company and replace them. There is a way to do this. You need a certain percentage of owners to agree though I am not sure how this is affected by being just a leaseholder as opposed to freeholder.

You could start off by posting a letter to every owner to rally support.

In the long run, when you come to sell your apartment, a problem management company might hinder you being able to sell. You will no doubt be asked by a potential buyer how things are run.

I would call the Federation of Private Residents' Association (though I see they are closed until Jan) and see if they can advise you. http://www.fpra.org.uk*

Good luck.

* I don't actually know if you are UK based BTW.

Good thinking Colin on buying those shelves that can be rearranged. I am going to have a problem on that front.
