Bit of a unorthodox take on Dredd but I'm all for artists having their own interpretation. After all, that is what many of the greats did.

Really like this guy's work. Became aware of it recently when I bought Batman Black & White #1 which is well worth checking out.

Help! / Re: Printer help.
26 October, 2013, 07:39:01 PM
I have an Epson Photo 1290. It's pretty old as these kinds of things go, but damn good. Can't fault it really. Still going strong. I don't print many photos but when I do the quality is outstanding. I read a review many years ago and the conclusion was that Epson prints were more lightfast than most (if not all) of the competition they reviewed.

Inks are a licence to print money though and that's the case with all manufacturers. Cheap printers but they cane you with ink costs.

That's a kind of Manta tank T-shirt.

I was going to correct you and say no, it's 178, but having looked at blackmocco's link, indeed it is 335.

I never tire of saying this, but the man is a genius.

Very good Meg. Really enjoying it these days.

I don't have all my Megs to hand but on the pagination debate, isn't the monthly page turn reveal:
INSURRECTION III
...hence that strip finishing on a left hand page.

Help! / Re: online translation sites
23 October, 2013, 11:13:27 PM
An easy test of translation websites is to translate the translation back into English.

Eg flip-r mk2's initial post > German > English (using Apple widget) =

"All hail the powerful understanding of bee stick, surprised me I, if each any experience of the Onlineübersetzungssites had, I hope to use in the strip which I process on and into Kauderwelsch to translate would not like.
Thanks"

(BTW Google translate doesn't make such a pig's ear of such a task.)

Looking at the Hamlyn edition, the reproduction is lighter.  It makes the text look a little faint compared to the Case Files repro, but on the other hand the illustrations in the Case Files look a bit murkier.
Would be interesting to see the relevant prog pages next to those.

I am way behind with Case Files. Is it clear from the reproduction at which point 2000AD went from film to digital artwork? Such a shame that so much earlier 2000AD material is scanned from printed pages for collected editions. Well, that's how it seems to me.

I come across some gems in my local Oxfam every now and then. Recently there was a Titan Nemesis volume 1. Not the earlier version with superb O'Neill cover so I didn't buy it, but the art was razor sharp.

I'm pretty sure there was a stage play, though sadly I never saw it.

I sure am. Thinking about it, i'll be completely clueless as to who anyone is! I've only seen a handful of faces of any member here.

Some broken links but always worth a visit for a laugh at some of these people's mugs.
