Perhaps "The Really Big Christmas Sleep" could show up elsewhere with the rest of Titan? Some post DOC-book or in the "Dark Side of the Moon" one?

That's a weird one, though - a prologue to a story that hasn't happened yet...!

Been a while since I read it, but didn't it center around Frank thinking of what became of Nixon and then mentioning the cold as well a bit of snowing?

It's a story that sets up the return of Judge Smiley and his black-ops Judges - so a bit of a Trifecta epilogue in many ways.

Thanks Guys and Pauljholden, I have no idea if Robo-keef has seen this or not.

I think PJ was pulling your leg, fella - Keef is the chap who deals with copyright infractions and knock-off merchandise!

Just wish it had more odd stuff, as well as perhaps giving some detail on civilians trying to survive the cold. To me it doesn't feel as dangerous if it's only Dredd, Barbara and Frank that are in the "risk".

Yep, that was where New Life fell down a bit, for me. The ice never really felt as though it had enveloped the whole city, whatever the dialogue tried to claim. We simply didn't see any of the effects - no scenes of the citizens' struggles that would have brought it home and made it feel more real and personal (though for ages I've bemoaned the lack of citizen characters in the Dredd strip these days, and how impersonal the city feels as a result).

Lots to love on the flipside, though - particularly the
death of McTighe
, the lovely Maitland (sigh) and Henry Flint just generally being fabulous.

I mean my own Lady Geoffery is a colossal X-Men fan and when we first met we had a fairly intense discussion about Avalanche's costume.

Funnily enough I met some of her friends at the weekend and while I don't think any of them have ever read a comic in their life, the talk somehow turned to the 90's X-Men cartoon! Turns out we're all huge fans, but then isn't everyone? I've bonded with relative strangers over that cartoon before now!

This romancin' better not affect your Warriors project.

I think we both know it will!  ;) I've got a fair bit of progress 'in the bank' though, so to speak, so the progress of the thread won't actually be as slow as the project itself. Mek Quake is a lot further along than you guys have seen so far, and I've got another two mystery characters built and just wanting a slap of paint!

Thankfully (inexplicably) she says she has a thing for comic nerds...!

It only took 32 bleedin' years(!), but I've managed to find myself in my first proper relationship. With a woman. A real one.

For the first time in my life since I hit 12 or so, I don't feel like I'm watching through the window as the whole human race enjoys a party I wasn't invited to. I'm actually enjoying my life instead of muddling through each day making the best of things, trying to ignore the empty gnawing loneliness at the back of everything. Even that hateful little inner voice of self-hatred has mostly fucked off and I'm realising it's actually okay to like myself as much as she seems to.

If I haven't seemed to be on the board quite as much lately, I'm sure you'll understand.  ;)

'DC exclusive' basically just means 'can't work for Marvel' and vice versa.

anyone know where this image was used before?, it was never a past cover or star scan so where did it come from, its not a new commission I am sure.

It's the frontispiece image from Prog 904, when Hellbringer started. It's been reprinted before now in the Rebellion Hellbringer TPB.

I am also intrigued by Simon Bisley being listed as an artist. I was only aware of 'The Black Hole' art. I did not think Bisley contributed to ABC after that??

Well it's certainly not written by Clint Langley, either! It's just an early placeholder cover, not final.

...my general contention is that the Megazine, ideally, should be aiming not so much for an older audience than 2000AD (since, as many point out, both comics are mostly read by adults), but should feel free not to worry about making its content unsuitable for, say, under 12s.

That's a really good distinction!

Is everything in 'Heavy Metal Dredd' also in the Case Files?

No, thank Grud - it got its own collection at some point a few years back.
