Hooray! An intro! Wish there were more of these, to be honest - Pat Mills is the only droid who really seems to get on board with them, and it's always worth reading them to find out interesting snippets about how the thrills came about.

All I know is I'd rather read a one-shot about a recently-stitched-back-together steam-powered hillbilly cyborg with acronym tourette's than I would another dull, besuited corporate villain.

Ah! Cheers, IP, good to know. Thought it was a bit weird to bother rebranding the Case Files if there were only going to be another two books.

That Future Shock was a Tale of Telguuth in all but name. Odd that it wasn't labelled as one.

Cracking art, though.

Huzzah! Won't Cae Files 13 pretty much fill in the gaps between 12 and the Necropolis run-up?

If so then I think I see their reasoning in having Necropolis and Dead Man in seperate books - not ideal but the problem of how to intergrate the Dead Man was always going to be a sticky wicket. It'll just be like having a (partly)colour TPB at the end of the Stronty run.

Quote from: "dandontdare"I always assume the auxes are all those cadets and rookies who are failed for one slip-up after 15 years of training.

That makes an awful lotta sense, actually - it'd be silly to throw away all that training and time you've put into a cadet, even if you do have to admit they couldn't cut it as a full Judge. Keeping them on as auxillaries is a pretty sensible option.

Agreed, I don't see what it can achieve but it's a nice gesture of support.

Quote from: "House of Usher"Gosh, now I don't know who's on the ball and who's not! I, like the other David, took the lad at his word. But although I was as mystified as the formidable Mr. XB, I thought the gesture was rather sweet. And now I see a suggestion to the effect that Batson was just making it up! What's real and what isn't, now? You can take Father Christmas, but at least leave me the Easter Bunny!

Batson is nothing if not sincere, Ush -

Quote from: "Proudhuff"Judge Grampus and his pals were kinda like that, but it would be better if they over ran, Sino-Cit or Texascity then headed to MC1

Always surprises me how relatively few appearances the Kleggs have made since Day the Law Died. You'd think there'd be an awful lot still bumming around the cosmos. Not in an aggressive, ready-to-invade capacity - the beauty of the Kleggs, after all, is that they're too stupid to be ambitious - but the occasional Klegg in the Alien Zoo, for instance, or a lone mercenary bumping into Dredd during one of his space jaunts.

John Smith's 'Meatmongers' is the only example I can think of that wasn't an appearance directly referencing the events of TDTLD.

Bring the loveable buggers back!

I doubt there's any clear structure, any more than there are clearly defined uniform designs for them. Wrtiers and artists just use different judges as and when stories require them. Man dying of knife wounds? Send for a med-judge. Tecchy-gizmos need to be explained? Bring on a tech judge. Psi-div in particular has had some barmy sub-divisions over the years.

That said, I've always wondered how the auxillaries work.
