Off Topic / Who's in the creative industry?

Crikey, I think you should have asked who's not in the creative industry...

If I wasn't a layabout post-uni bum, the idea would be that I would be doing something in the  creative industry. Most of my spare time is spent writing novels and drawing stuff, so I figure I might as well get paid for it.

It's brilliant. Not only is the whole riffing on Indian culture a brilliant idea, making it stand out from anything else, it's superheroes given a suitably dry, British 2000ad treatment - like the bit in the second one where he lost his powers and had to ride to the villian's base on the bus, getting weird looks from everyone, or the bit in this one with the two girls.
And it's always nice to read a Pat Mills story where he simply seems to be having fun, rather than thinking - 'My god, what horrible things I've uncovered during my research - the people must be told, through the medium of comics!'

Yes it's hard to follow, but this is just because of the monthly treatment - I sometimes find it hard to follow Fiends and Koburn and most other Meg stories, when a whole month passes between each installment.

Is it any good? Prior to the imminent release of this TPB, I think it's the one Dredd epic (major or minor) that I've never once heard about in seven years of collecting tooth. Even Judgement Day warrants more mentions!

Love most of those artists though, and Wagner wrote it - so it surely can't be a bad story/set of stories?

Think I've found it, Tanky, if that furry thing crawling up my leg and into my boxers is anything to go by...

I'm scared. :(

Yes, and both Neo-weirdies and Go-Machine come to an end.

Have to say, was impressed by the Kippers' outing - in just this one part vast new levels of (much needed) depth have been added to his world, with a neat little twist early on and a reversal of the status quo we've seen so far, much to the surprise of Kipling and Neesha. If there's a bit more like this the series will have a much longer shelf-life.

Red Seas is awesome. It's also barmy as a box o' frogs. It could be triple length next week and I wouldn't mind.

Didn't much care for Go-Machine when it first arrived, but it's been shorter, and far better, than I first thought it would be, mainly becuase of this brilliant ending.

Heh heh. Happy to say I solved this about a year back. When you finally solve all the components you wouldn't believe how chuffed you feel. Not yet completed this one though, I'm absolutely baffled (I hear there's also a Hapland 3, but I can't get that one to work on my PC):

She's actually stood on the Yellow Pages, in a homage to that old advert. Later in the strip J.R. Hartley goes futsie and Dredd has to take him down with a heatseeker.

For the record, I would have voted no. I really don't see it, myself. He seems to be pretty helpful and friendly for the most part, always ready with his vast lore of Dredd-related knowledge to help out anyone who needs it, and he doesn't seem any grumpier than me.**

There are some far grumpier fuckers than him on this board...

**And for the record, no, I'm not a secret alias of Logan.

The 'terror' actually comes from the fact that there were only three of them when they went to sleep...

Gah! And we only get one vote each?! How the hell am I going to decide which to go for?!? I want a vast down-turn in the quality of your Nemesis pics, people. It just isn't fair having this many masterpieces to choose from.

You should do an art course, Mr C. They give you top grades for any old doodle as long as you come out with an explanation like that for it. Methinks you'd go far.

How did you manage to get a nice big pic like that? Photobucket wouldn't seem to let me post mine at anything like the size I wanted - and it looks crap small.
