For those going to Thought Bubble this year, there will be 2 screenings of a draft version of the film on Sunday.

Someone will probably have a better one, but in the meantime.

Probably doesn't count as it's part of a private commission, rather than published, but it is a Mick McMahon one.

The film is being screened at Thought Bubble in November. This isn't the 100% complete version of the film. As with Judge Minty, we screened a nearly complete version at Thought Bubble, and then spent a further number of months refining it, before we put it online for free. We will also have a table if anyone wants to drop by and say hi.

That single image on the screen looks the business. Bet JJ Abrams would love that lens flare on the lower helmet!

Aha, yes that Joseph Lee one feels like it's proving a point. It's beautifully done. No one can doubt that guy's ability to pick up a pen. Very nice.

IF Paramount's guidelines became the bench mark and IF people obeyed them, that would be the end of 'pro looking' fan films.

Paramount's lawyers were basically backed into a corner, so they only had one possible, blanket, response.

It's got a great 2000AD guest list. They're also planning a Judge Minty screening tomorrow afternoon in the Coach House Cinema at The Craigdarroch Arms Hotel.

I wonder do they also have the audio-visual rights to use the DREDD designs and content established by DNA and IMGlobal - do they need to redesign them somewhat or start anew?

Redesigning everything would add to the costs of production- hardly something would be program makers would find desirable. $56 million for Dare Devil?! That is pretty damn steep!

It might be a lot 'cleaner' legally, to create a new version of the uniform.

I liked the DREDD version, so I think there is a lot they could take from it, and combined with the source material create something 'the same, but different' enough to avoid any possible legal blurring.

And considering the amount of props and costumes that were sold off after the film, they're probably going to have to make all new ones any way.

We're planning on using digital doubles for a few shots.
