"The first post version looks like one of those Ameircan DC artists half hearted attmepts to 'get' Dredd."

I don't see that at all!?

As The "Enigmatic Dr X" pointed out, I think they're both going for the same style Dredd (Dillon, Bolland). The differences are subtle. Apart from the resperator angle (which I think Wake's got right), I think it's down to finsh, Wake's looks soft edged and hand finished, where as the other (to me) looks precise edged and machine made. It looks more solid. Plus more importantly it's a tighter fit (I'll try and dig out the other image from the other forum.

I suppose it's a personal preference.

I agree that the resperator angle is good on Wake's, but I think the whole helmet is too big (in comparison), probably to make it more practical? However I wouldn't actually be planning to fight crime, if I bought one.

The Finish, proportions and scale are what caught my eye on the one I posted. From the other photos I saw, it just seems a bit more precise and 'realistic'. Don't get me wrong I feel Wake deserves a medal for making these things in the first place, but I just prefer the one that I can't actually own, story of my life.

Spotted this on another forum.

Excellent proportions. Cool style. Solid design. Nice finish. Not forsale. I want. Must find way of owning.http://www.joedredd.com/dreddhg.jpg">

To be honest I've never seen a picture of him before either. I would just have to go on the old Artdroid picture.

He's a bit of a legend for me too. I wouldn't be able to resist embarrassing myself by saying what a positive influence his work has had on my life.

Good luck with the artwork, are you published yet?

...and from the Iron Giant
The Giant flying up towards the missile and oblivion, closing his eyes and saying "Suuupppeerrrmannn"
(Sorry, something in my eye there - sniff.)

Ha ha ha! My wife laughs at me everytime I watch that, it really is a beautiful moment. Very Charlie from Ro-Busters.

My favourite would be Roy Batty's end speech in Blade Runner, it completely turns the film on its head. From villain to victim in one scene. Brilliant.

I've always loved this piece by Colin Wilson. Excellent composition, drama and beautiful detail, typical Colin.http://www.joedredd.com/colinwilson.jpg">

P.S. Not too keen on any of the other Chopper stories, though you can see why they had to bring back such a popular character.

For story, I'd have to say 'The Day The Law Died' though it did suffer from having too many artists.

'The Judge Child Quest' and 'Block Mania' were my favourites for artwork.

I'd also agree that the 'Midnight Surfer' was probably one of the best 'complete' Dredd stories. A 'mature' story line without forgetting to be an exciting comic book.

Agreed that Lego Dredd is brilliant!

I hadn't seen the rest of your stuff, really cool, especially the 2000AD logo.

News / Re: New Dredd Figure

I quite like it in yellow, more like the comic version.

I don't know why they don't just do one like a Bolland illustration, everyone likes Bolland surely, wait a minute, yes I do... money?

It's a slight improvement on the Reaction figure (my opinion). I like the big badge and boots, very McMahon. The rest of the pads are a bit over the top for me.

I'll buy a couple anyway.

Rogue Trooper and Nemisis next please.

P.S. they're available for pre order on the Forbidden Planet site.
