Suggestions / Re: Judge Dredd casting suggestion...

My money is still on Ron 'Hellboy' Perlman to play Dredd as the guy excels when he is under loads of make up as in Beauty and The Beast.

And how about this lovely gentleman for Judge Giant?

At 6'3" tall and with that frame he is a dead cert for JD's best and perhaps only friend, or even his son (as seen in The Pit) and to add to that he can act too!

And least we forget in the run up to Pococlpyse War.

I'm with Rowdy Yates! Who you fighting with?
One of the best lines in Dredd period.

I do think that AW wins over Necropolis, though both are stunning tomes in their own right and each has amazing artwork!

There are definatly two versions of Indyclix out, one for the US featuring characters from Crossgen and the UK only version which features heavily 2000AD characters.

We got our cases this morning if anyone is interested (?4.50 post free in the UK)and after opening up a few boosters and a starter box I managed to get Fire, Mortis, Brit-City Judge, Torquemada and a unique Death, not to mention more Johnny Alphas than I can shake a stick at!

If anyone wants any boosters please check out my wifes site below and mention that your from the board.

This isnt a new book at all, as I used this in refernce to the Dredd movie during my first semester of Film Studies at Uni. Its a good read though, but can get a little techy for some in places if your not a film studies student.

Hi,
There was some footage of gameplay and an interview with Jason on Gamesville on Thursday night, Sky One. It is often repeated during the week and over the weekend on Sky Mix so keep ya eyes open, the game looks excellent, despite the best efforts of others to rubbish it before its even in the shops.

The big JC gone up to jam with Jimi in that purple hazed gig in the sky. Bless him. Elvis, Johnny Cash and the Beatles, all helped pave the way for what we now call music, each being in part influence for movements in the music industry and the punk scene of the 70s owing a great deal to the rebelious diehard streak that Cash showed to his peers. God bless ya man.

I would say that it is for ease of use when sat on a Lawmaster or Zipper, easy to reach and draw and fire in a fluid motion. Also it adds a dramatic appeal when a judge drops down like Missy Eliot from the latest Gap advert, into the splits and draws as they hit the floor, lowering their profile persumably and making it harder for them to be hit.

Off Topic / Re: Lead figures
03 September, 2003, 10:51:31 PM
It depends on the condition of the miniatures as to exactly how much one can get for them, if your lucky you can pick up figures at games shows from second hand dealers and on the bring and buy stalls for a few pounds each, though some people will try to sell them to you for really inflated prices.

The most expensive of the figures so far are perhaps the old Titan run and a full set of these could set you back a tidy sum! Foundry seem to have slowed down dramatically on their 2000AD releases and I am not sure if the Dredd with Daystick hsa been released as of yet. There was talk from Foundry last year about the release of a Dredd on resin Lawmaster but as of yet that too has still to materialise.

Though not made of lead (well white metal that is in these pc times) the new Indyclix range will feature Dredd, Anderson, Hershy, Death, Fire, Fear, Mortis, Brit-Cit Judge, Alpha, Wulf, Torquemada and Nemisis figures. All the figures are painted, but often to a pretty low standard. Indyclix is out on October 1st.

*shudders*

I know shot for shot remakes dont work, just take a look at that god awful remake of Psycho! Hitchcock isnt just turning in his grave the poor bugger span out of it!

Sorry if it sounded like a rant, it wasn't but I loves Kong very much and really do want to see the movie done justice. Then again I love Dredd very much and well to answer that question just watch Sky One from 9pm tonight.

Kong (1933 version) is my all time favourite movie, in fact I have recently written my final disatation on the movie and its effects on the genre that followed it.

Jacksons plan as far as I am aware is to remake the 33' version rather than an all new version or the dreadful 77 version with Bridges and Lange. Jackson hopes to remain faithful to the original, a movie that influenced him greatly as a child, and in interviews in Screen, Esquire and GQ he has stated that if he could, he would do a shot for shot remake in black and white.

I have every faith that Jackson will do the movie good and that if he handles it half as well as he did with the Rings movies it will be one of the best movies ever made.

Just my own opinion :)
