You can find other appearances by Droids before they were famous on the Class Of '79's Letters To The Green Dude feature.

Had a quick look through the archives from May - Sept 79 & 80 and couldnt see it although even on the Tharg and Ro-Jaws art pages.
Dont suppose you remember anything at all about the Prog your picture appeared in? If you can give me more details no matter how small I can have another look through the vaults.

>Hopefully that new-fangled digital technology and the spanking new four-coulour film scanner Rebellion now owns will make recovery of such lost gems possible.

Just as long as Kathr-1N doesnt doesnt throw it out the window.

The Next EE is a mixed bag and breaks the tradition of themed issues.

Help! / Re: Action Comic website
23 July, 2004, 04:08:36 PM
Yup Martin Barker did the 'Action: Story Of A Violent Comic' book (1991) as well as A Haunt of Fears (1984), The Video Nasties (1984), Comics: Ideology, Power and the Critics (1989), The Lasting of the Mohicans, From Antz to Titanic, Knowing Audiences: Judge Dredd, its Friends, Fans and Foes, The Crash Controversy and smaller researches into the audiences for Straw Dogs, A Clockwork Orange, and Being John Malkovich. He has been doing research into the launch and reception of The Lord of the Rings Part III.

Martins personal homepage (under construction) can be found in the link below.
A look at his images of Iwo Jima link is worth a quick browse.

The Rebellion edition has a intro by Simon Pegg, a covers gallery of the covers to Prog 1322, 1324 and both versions of 1335. A1 page piece by Andy Diggle with a scene taken out of the part 10 and a 2 page Henry Flint sketchbook.
Cant remember whats in the Dark Horse version as I havent got it to hand.

>It's only a pity that it's too big a strip to reprint in an Extreme edition.

With DC doing 108 books I'd be suprised if something Like Skizz doesnt turn up amongst them especially as it can be sold as being written by Alan Moore.

>Or am I being too naive?

Unless its a specific project most writers are to busy working on their next pay cheque to worry to much about whose doing the art to a script they may have turned in weeks ago.

Help! / Re: Scream comic

I have no interest in silly girls comics, didn't have then and definitely don't have now. Never read a copy of Misty, Tammy or any of those inferior girls 'comics' and have in no way bookmarked this page to go back and read when there's no one in the office who can overlook my monitor 8-?

Whilst I can see that the defence of the film having the teenagers saving the day on the basis that its meant for kids is a valid one but wasnt the oiginal puppet series aimed at kids and that didnt need any kids saving the day to get us interested in it to the extent that years later were moaning about it.
I dont believe that in a kids movie you need kids to appeal to young people. As with another thread talking about a movie that most of us saw in ou younger years I dont recall Star Wars needing a band of teenagers saving the day to get us hooked in to the story.

>Loved the bit where the dialogue produced the title of the 50th issue and then the great recreation of that cover. Nice fan pleasing moment that also produced a nice visual image for the rest of the audience

Here it is.
