Off Topic / Re: V for Vendetta film ?............

I saw him buy sweets for a little boy once (in a nice way).  (Thanks, btw).

I think any good V movie would need to have a car in it. A V-Mobile that had all sorts of cool gadgets on it.  And yes, whole scenes filmed in "bullet-time (tm)" would be good even if there was no rational explaination as to why the characters can alter time.

Anyway, Mister S, they would leave the comic V for Vendetta alone even if they make a film. Look, my copy is still over there on the bookshelf...
(Was that Raymond Chandler?)

So...

(I know I've read these but I can't remember)

Is there an actual story in THE SCARLET CANTOS? As described here it is "Red wakes up, gets filled in on backstory, bites bloke".

How did she know about the off-spring in THE VERMIN STARS? Was it around before she went to sleep? Did she discover about it after she woke up?

Well, there's ?60 and some of Bou's pottery riding on the first person to get a Monkey in a Hat in the prog (for no reason whatsoever) and that still hasn't happened so I'm not sure the 10p for Ferroro Rocher will work.

Go on Mister Rennie, I'm sure you can convince an artist to put it in as a bit of incidental detail somewhere...

16 for me.

It's pretty much unforgiveable having two similar covers (10 and 13) so close together. I always do a double take when I see them next to each other in my back prog collection.  And don't get Logan started on the artist...

Is it just me? I mean, I'm willing to give it a fair crack of the whip given the creative talents involved but, SAMANTHA SLADE does sound kinda cheesy and corny...

Damn!  This maybe just me but I thought it would be rather amusing if this thread consisted of the titualr artist replying every now and again with...

12-10 "I'm having a cup of tea now"

13-12 "Dom's just popped out for lunch so I've just snuck over to his side of the studio and drawn an erect willie on one of his zombies"

13-30 "Just off to watch Neigbbours"

14-45 "I'm just watching an old A-Team episode for reference."

16-30 "I'm going for a dump"...

38 OR 39.

39 edges it for me.  I've always being a sucker for a strong single character image in white space and the flag means there's a story reason to do it as well as just being arty...

Heh, I've also just noticed that it was you, Gary, who started the "recipes from bedsitland" thread.

Heh! I could add more to the images of my vast Sauropod bulk conforming to domestic blissiness by saying it was just prior to a shopping trip...

Man, ASDA was jumpin' an' I mean jumpin' last night!

No garlic but I can lend you some CUMIN SEEDS.  Sorted out the spice rack last night and found FIVE unopened jars of the little buggers.  That's like, FIVE years supply.

I'm still waiting for the GAMECUBE version so exploding fatties and perforating zombies and vampires is someway off for me. Grr!

Oh, and all hail the Trout.

I'm not actually sure I liked the cover to be honest. Sure, it's a great drawing and she's a fine looking woman (with mutant hair) but it doesn't make me desperate to dive inside.

DREDD: Well, I laughed a bit despite (or because of) it being particularly gross. I suspected that this story might have the sort of resolutiuon that, well, I might come up with and was correct. J-BO, I wonder whatever happened to the Future Shock submission I was sent in... I must say I liked the art even if the colour palette seemed a bit subdued (though I'm glad this wasn't done in nineties brown). I was disappointed with the lack of action though.  Had Mister Edgington written any other Dredd or was this his first?

DEAD MEN WALKING:  Not my cup of tea this one, thanks very much.  Unfeasibly hard people put in unfeasibly hard situations with unfeasible bad language. It all seems a bit... TOO unfeasible. I did like the KARN CORP logo though.

CABALLISTICS INC - thoroughly enjoyable bit of back story provided by Mister Rennie here with some suitably horrible images provided by Mister Reardon.  Great stuff. More please.  I really do want this story to have a longish run.

CARDOMMON - Heh, fifty million years into the future and they are still doing ZX81 jokes.   I'm quite enjoying this so far - though the "unfeasible" part of me is sort of saying that I shouldn't put up with some of the "I got here just in time to catch the last guy alive" stuff.  I do like the art most of the time - just not when it gets to exagerated (but I liked the art on BISON as well).

DURHAM RED: Nicely drawn arse. That sums up the story for me as well.  And actually, I take it back about the nicely drawn - some of it isn't that clear what's going on.  Hey, their spaceship is a giant cannabis leaf.

PS: Great Steaming Arses! No, there is actually a shot of one on Page five just after she's been KKKZZZAAAPPPed!

26 for me.

Made me think of what interesting interaction there mightbe between the two characters. Possibly not as good if you weren't a regular reader.

I did quite like the UNFORGIVEN pastiche because I had the film poster hung on my wall at the time.

Well done.  The Metro letters page is sometimes at VIZ levels. I've managed to get a dozen or so printed and even managed a Monkey in a Hat.
