ps I did hear a rumour that Scojo wanted to cast Jim Carey as Dredd in his movies, but I'm not sure if it's true or not.

++You know, I bet he'll be really glad to hear that at least one person read the scripts all the way to the end.++

Having to wade all the way through them is probably why there's been no news on the Shoreline front since Dec 2001, poor bastards...

I'm a big b'n'w man myself, but i have to agree that some of the b'n'w we're seeing at the moment, RT more so than SD, looks like it wasn't intended as b'n'w but as colour. B'n'w always works best when it's used for atmosphere, and the usual way to do that is by chucking loads of black in, using it as a colour as well as drawing lines with it. More pencillers/inkers who dabble in b'n'w need to realise that it's a distinct way of illustrating rather than just leaving out the colour.

I'm with PVS, usually whenevr you see Untold Tales or Year/Chapter One's or whatever it's been farmed out to some nobody to write, for a miniseries/annual/whatever, giving the impression that the *real* writer doesn't want to touch it. But if Wagner was into the idea, it could potentially be amazing.
Who knows?

It was the bit where Synapse called everyone, particularly Messrs Wagner & Rennie, a twat and stormed off in a huff that tipped me off...

In all fairness to Ennis, helter skelter was a great idea, but it all went a bit shit-shaped half way through. it would have worked a lot better if;

1) There'd been another 5 or so episodes, so that the villains wouldn't have had to form an orderly queue to be killed

2)or even better, Dredd had only killed a couple, and the rest had escaped into MC-1 or the cursed earth, setting the scene for further appearances.

Unfortunately Ennis did the usual thing and turned it into a tough guy story. I'm only surprised that Dredd didn't turn out to be an ex-SAS officer or something...

I'm probably going out on a limb here, not to mention setting myself up for a virtual rumble, but I like some of the Ennis Dredd. I know that there's loads of tosh and filler, but there was some good stuff too. Anyone else?

I work in a comic shop, and you'd be amazed how many kids ask me that...

Or the all-time favourite, "Which of these comics'll be worth a lot in a couple of years?"
