"Hawk the Slayer - Well, I have my reasons, but it sums up something or other for me no doubt. The love of things beyond any artistic merits."

THAT'S for sure!

Especially the mocasin wearing Elf (Crow is it?) and that rip-off Darth Vader played by the late Jack Palance!

I always remember watching 'Hawk the Slayer' because we'd also rented 'Time Wars' ('GI SAmurai') another true classic!

And I don't think I caught any Spaghetti Westerns in there... or I might be just blind, of course, so apologies to anyone who DID include 'For A Few Dollars MOre', clearly the stronger of the 'three' and clearly the BEST Western ever made, pipping even 'The Wild Bunch' to the top post... So, we are agreed. The number one film is 'For A Few Dollars More'.

Having never read any of the first Dante stories, it does appear obvious that this team of creators are the Dogz B***ox... The art work simply flows with the script work and it feels alot more substantial somehow....

A little off target, but does anyone remember a 'Fry and Laurie' sketch sometime back, where they made up a whole list of amusingly fake swear words, "pimhole" being the most memorable..?

Stalone was a good choice, I suppose... but I would have loved to see Mr Clint Eastwood in the role... He might have been a bit too old and crusty though... Maybe as the Dead Man??

Yes, yes and thrice yes.

"Redesigning the lawgiver wasn't bad in itself..."

Just looking at the front cover of prog 1503 made me weep with joy! How seriously cool and unique that original gun looks!

And what do we have now!? A shoe-box with a nipple for a muzzle...

No thank you!

Redesigning the Lawgiver.... and I can't think of anything else. (Other than the influence the film-Lawgiver clearly had on the necessity of redesigning it... Pah!)

BlackSiddah: "Random. Weren't we slagging off randomness on another thread recently? People talk, something happens, then something else happens, ravens on a cake, drag artist, guns waved about, talking, talking, talking heads. When was this ever the way to write comics?"

Usher speaks wisdom here...

Really, what the hell is this story about? Yeah, it looks good and yeah, it's 'quirky' and 'unusual', but come on... Don't we need some sort of 'story' and 'plot' too?
