Prog / Re: Malone - suspicious?

It's a matter of build up and suspense though, isn't it? Not that I hold this opinion, but I can see the angle PVS is coming from - You spend so much time investing in a character, his world, getting engrossed in 'what he used to be'... And then you discover it's a character from another strip you don't like. I think if Malone had turned out to be a, say, Second City Blue spin off, I'd be pretty disappointed too.

Even so, you have to admire how this was pulled off. Very clever of Hamilton and the Mighty One.

Hm, in regards to the cover - I might be missing something here, but why does young Dredd only have half a badge?

It's brilliant regardless. Jock is ace. We need to steal him back from DC somehow...

I suspect it's because Trout summed it up so perfectly - Tremendous prog. Although I agree on Malone, it's slow and seemingly going nowhere, but I'm sure it'll pick up. There are enough loose ends dangling to keep me reading, at least.

You're not alone - I love America 2.

Only read Dredd and Siddah from this months meg so far - Was far more impressed with Siddah, the Dredd story just hasn't been doing anything for me I'm afraid, and this whole 'I'm Dredd, whole armies stand aside for me!' idea is pretty irritating... But I guess he did have some big tanks behind him this time, at least.

I'm hoping the Superman boxsets are released eventually - But in the meantime, HMV have been releasing the Batman boxsets on reigon 2. The first one was out last year, and the second should hit the UK on the 28th (according to their online store.

Really hope they take off, as I'd love nothing more than to have nice, shiney boxsets of all the Timm/Dini DC universe creations...

Well surely, having Hardback or paperback, the book dimensions and number of pages would be enough to give anybody an idea what kind of book they are.

Yeah, my thrill-power-containment-unit was breached as well, although luckily the contents survived despite the efforts of those dastardly thrill-suckers (otherwise known as the Royal Mail).

Haven't we already been sent a copy of the sampler? Or is this a different one? Do we get some sort of prize for every friend we pass them along too, or something?

Fantastic prog! Dredd was well worth the wait! If it continues at this quality till Febuary? I'm sure we'll all be overjoyed.

Stone Island is shaping up to be really fun as well, certaintly looks to be one of the better off one off's recently. Malone is still wait and see for me, good to have the Banzai's back and Dante going somewhere again!

I can't stand Coldplay. I swear, the only time Chris Martin sounds like there's any life or passion in his singing is when he's been kicked in the balls (or at least, it sounds that way).

Not really keen on any of the bands Ush listed either, aside from Frans Ferdinand, but I only have their first album. Wasn't really interested in Monkeys beyond their first single, which was rather good - But sounded like an inferior Libertines to me...
