Help! / Re: Original 2000ad Art estimates

Generally it depends on the amount and what you think its worth.

Some contents insurance will cover it in the total depending on the single item limit, if its anywhere close to that then list it separately.

All the artwork should be listed, valued and documented where it came from (provience, etc) as some artists are still disputing that artwork still belongs to them, e.g. Bolland. This is likely to stop insurers paying out unless you can prove where you bought it from.

There are some specilist artwork (usually fine art) policies you can buy around the £150 a year for £50K's worth if I remember what they where saying at one Con the company was at.

Take pictures of everything and have that on at least 2 memory sticks (and up to date!) one on site preferrably in a fireproof safe and then one off site.

This also needs to include everything else, collection wise, 2K books, toys etc, etc as some insurers lump all that soret of thing into one item (a collection) as opposed to let you claim for each prog etc.

It's all a bit of a time consuming nightmare but to replace these one off's would take a commission (if possible! no more Massimo RIP) so you need to protect yourself.

Hope this helps.

Of course it depends on what pages / publications you are including????

But if just the Prog

I don't have any actual figures but;

Carlos is no where near the top of the page count...........

Up to a certain point I would have said Ron Smith perhaps?

Gibson may be up there due to length of service and the fact he drew more than half of the very early Dredds, lots of Robo-Hunter and others.

I suspect Anthony Williams could be top due to his ability to turn the handle and churn out those pages so always someone that Tharg can rely on etc.

Interesting question though.  :D

Luke Kirby art is wonderful up close even if the printers cut it off the backing board to fit it to the rollers!!!!!  >:(

The Brigand Doom artwork is very different to, not many other pages that are done in the same style.

Hooray for Crossley and Burdis - the anti-nipple leather cult is growing!

See now I'm thinking we have to do the full body glory shots with a 2000AD item that CF doesn't have.

That means he will have to print out full size colour pictures to hang in the cellar............

Yes I know its been medically confirmed I'm a very sick boy.......  :-X

That is a fantadtic idea. Everyone, but everyone, should send tharg a full length reclining nude photo, with their bits covered by an improbably placed item somehow linked to 2000AD. Surely if he gets enough, tharg would print them?

off to search for a judge mortis style animal skull...

Odd you should mention it but the news is that there will be a Judge Dredd thimble.* ;)

I'm off to find out what's the largest mug they do.

* For the important group in the Venn diagram of Dredd lovers and members of the WI.

Now where's my nightstick????

Might as well beat Molch-R to the punch on this one: Tharg's Nudey Shocks - single page, nude photospread of Tharg in all his... glory. Or Molch-R's Dirty Knees - nude snaps of the PR droid but you only see him from mid-thigh down as this is all that is visible to the... naked eye. Something to do with nudity anyway.

Imagine it, a whole series of the droids in all their 'Glory'................... :o

A modern update to the splash pages of the past! eeeeek

P.S. Next they will be asking for readers to send in their own in all their 'Glory' shots! Time to read something else methinks!
