Note, obviously, that a lot of the covers and some of the contents of these books are placeholders, subject to change, and so on.

Believe me, I have WAY less hair than Neil - and it also happens to be going very grey. (Man.)

"This stuttering approach makes for an uncomfortable read as do the tired mentions of â??thrill receptorsâ?? and demands for more product. [...] all we can say is â??the boy ainâ??t rightâ??. "

Ah well. That was in the list I sent over to Jon, but I guess it was omitted for some reason - most likely, due to printing issues. (If original artwork isn't around, some old stuff duplicates very badly, as anyone with the DC Swimming in Blood trade will know.)

Mind you, I don't have my copy yet (*sob*), so that's rather poo. (Kano yomped on in yesterday. No sign of Red Seas or Mandroid as yet in these here parts.

"Bride of the Warlock - Winter Special 92"

Yay!

"shame they couldn't get the Deadlock strip in there"

I suspect they wanted to end Nemesis on the iconic final frame from Kev, rather than an entire 10-part episode. I wouldn't be entirely surprised to see the Deadlock solo series show up in an ABCW collection at some point.

"So... prayers answered?"

See my post earlier on for the current situation. It's more like 'prayers pending' rather than 'prayers answered'.

Personally, my 'ideal' Final Solution would have the 'missing' annual stories, all the FS covers (including the Feral ones) and Top Dog. That's pretty much the list I compiled for Jon, but what happens depends on how much time he has, and how accessible the relevant bits from the archive actually are, not least after the 2000 AD move across Oxford.

Um. I really think you should stay away from this thread, in case cats are left out of bags and the surprise for you is spoiled. All I'll say is that Final Solution is probably the darkest of all of the S/D tales, surpassing even Rage.

"The only faint glimmer of hope is that it lists John Wagner there, which would only make sense if Top Dog was added into the mix."

The official response I got from Jon is more or less that the contents aren't finalised, and while he might be able to add extras, he can't promise anything. The main issue is that 2000 AD's moved across Oxford, and so the archives are in a state. However, I re-sent a list of the 'missing' elements to him, so you never know.

"Cover looks nice though a bit spoilery! I'd have personally gone for the McNeil cover of Alpha vs everyone."

Why not mention that to Jon?

Mm. A tad, but there you go. Also, news from the hub is that the book's contents aren't yet finalised, so that told me.

Judging by the latest Dredd Megazine's ad, the plea sadly fell on deaf ears. Strontium Dog: The Final Solution is advertised at £13.99, as per the books site. Seems a shame to omit Top Dog and one annual story, but at least the trade dress resembles the chunky books.
