Hello mate. Welcome to the board.

You've got loads of stuff to catch up on, you lucky, lucky man. You're in for a treat. The prog just gets better and better and you'll be hard pushed to find a duff collection to peruse.

COR! That's pukka pencilwork Fester.

Really nice shadows on the Daredevil one. A great pose too.

But that Judge Death is feckin awesome. I often find myself preferring pencils to fully inked works, I dunno, I just like being able to see how the artist has worked the piece. Nice work.

Really liked your comp piece as well.

Congratulations GQ!

A deserved win for a stunning piece of artwork. Put me down for a poster if you do one.

That was another remarkable comp and I'll bet it got very close after 1st place, so many vote worthy pieces and so few votes, congratulations to everyone.

And I'm absolutely chuffed to bits to have got votes at all,  cheers lads.

Roll on the next one. I'm going to try an entirely digital piece next time so I'd better learn some new swear words I guess.

I'm actually going to be in Brighton to see a mates band do a gig later in the afternoon, so I think I'll pop along and see if I can't get a signed copy.

Might see if Kev fancies having a go at the art comp. That'd be alright wouldn't it Jim?

May see you there Peter.

I'm looking forward to seeing Dave Taylor's work in the prog this month. "Big Robots" in the Meg was phenomenal. An insane level of detail.

That was quick work fellas.

I forgot to mention that the prize is the same as last time, a graphic novel of your choice (no £50 ultimate editions though folks) and the task of selecting the subject for the next comp. But most importantly of all, you will receive the dewy eyed admiration of your fellow boarders.

No you will.

Honestly.

I've just heard from an undercover source that Shane Ritchie is confirmed to play Dredd.

No seriously.

Blimey, I haven't seen Kevlev's work before. He's a bit good isn't he. Bolt and Dark Jimbo, well, goes without saying really. Awesome.

Nice post Emperor.

Show us yer stuff Tindog. This is a great place to gather opinion.

Greetings literati, and welcome to the second 2000AD forum short story comp.

Pens, pads, keyboards, stylii, biros and wax tablets at the ready.

This time round the challenge is to write a story of 500 words or less. Last time round it was a 1000 words or less but that proved somewhat daunting at the voting stage of the competition, so we'll try 500 and see what we come up with.

The creative colossus that is MIKE CARROLL was our winner in the first competition and as is his right as victor has chosen the subject of the comp this time round. So I'll hand you over to Mike for a moment as he clues us in,

QuoteIt's Crossover Time! Entries must feature at least one 2000 AD character meeting up with a character (or characters) from anywhere outside 2000 AD - other comics, books, TV, movies...

Examples:
Canon Fodder vs. Father Jack
Slaine vs. Ike Broflovsky
Walter the Wobot vs. Wambo (I mean, Rambo)

That sound like fun to anyone?

-- Mike

Does it ever Mike!

So there it is, 500 words or less, the competition will run till midnight of the 28th of JUNE.

I'm expecting high grade lunacy from all and sundry. Make us all proud.

WELL DON"T SIT THERE READING THIS, GET WRITING!

TB has mentioned this elsewhere already but Nick Dyer's depiction of Judges wearing their Lawgivers holstered on the hip made me pause this week. I think it looks good, gives them a bit more of a 'cop' stance. Has anyone else done the uniform like this in the past?

Is that right Jim? If so that's even more inspired than I thought. Plain english advertising.

That strip is bloody wonderful Adrian. I have to admit I haven't read Viz for a good while, more fool me. You've got the Ronnies down pat, great work man.

I'd really hoped to be able to get to this but it was not to be. I'll try and get to Brum.
